On November 16, GQ’s annual Men of the Year Party will be back and bolder than ever. To celebrate the magazine’s 28th MOTY issue, we’re gathering the most influential people from across the worlds of fashion, entertainment, and sports in Los Angeles, where GQ’s global editorial director Will Welch will be joined by a cadre of high-octane co-hosts who embodied this past year in pop culture: Jacob Elordi, Hollywood’s (and Gen Z’s) white-hot leading man; Kim Kardashian, the bar-setting reality star turned mega-mogul; and Travis Scott, the pivotal multi-platinum musician. Plus—as an extra special guest—the menswear legend himself, Tom Ford.

This year’s Men of the Year bash is an ode to our current cultural moment, as defined by the stars whose work spans both reality and hyperreality, whose moves have unlocked new stratospheres of business, clout, and success: Elordi, whose Euphoria momentum has carried him into critic-darling leading roles in Sofia Coppola’s Priscilla and Emerald Fennell’s Saltburn. Kardashian, who turned her underwear brand Skims into a fashion empire. Scott, whose 2023 album Utopia broke streaming records worldwide. And Ford, who sold his namesake business to the tune of $2.8 billion and has his next-chapter sights set on a return to Hollywood.

All that, plus this year’s hosts are also just down to have a good time—and if the MOTY parties of yore are any indication, this year just might be the best time yet.

“I’m excited for a party. I love a party,” Kardashian tells GQ, though she admits: “I actually hate hosting a party. Thank God I have some co-hosts.” In other words, GQ’s 2023 Men of the Year Party will be a prime opportunity for Elordi, Scott, Kardashian, and Ford to maximize their joint slay. Stay tuned for November 16—and in the meantime, here’s what you need to know ahead of the big night.

When and where is GQ’s Men of the Year 2023 bash taking place?

MOTY 2023 will take place on Thursday, November 16 in sunny Los Angeles, with all the buzzy red carpet coverage available on GQ’s social media channels.

Social channels, you say?

Why, yes—make sure you’re following GQ on Instagram, X, TikTok, Facebook, and YouTube for all the updates.

Who’s hosting MOTY 2023?

As above, this year’s Men of the Year bash is an ode to our current cultural moment—and our 2023 hosts are a megawatt quartet of au-courant stars: Jacob Elordi, Kim Kardashian, Travis Scott, and Tom Ford.

What’s the dress code?

This year’s invite says Modern Red Carpet, which calls for anything and everything swanky, swerve-y, and scene-stealing. Attending and need some style inspiration? Check out our handy gallery featuring 63 of the great red carpet ensembles of all time to get those fashion ideas flowing.

Are there awards? Who are this year's honorees?

As one wise colleague once put it, “MOTY isn’t an awards ceremony, per se—it’s more like a righteous and rollicking hang.” That said, there will be official honorees in attendance. Check back here soon for an official announcement.

(Plus, on the actual eve of the Men of the Year bash, we’ll hand-select a winner to receive a big ol’ shiny medal for GQ Big Fit Of The Night as the party winds down. Last year’s winner was Pusha T.)

Who were last year’s MOTY honorees?

Last year’s MOTY cover stars were then-imminent Oscar winner Brendan Fraser (“Comeback of the Year”), new Hollywood royalty Zoë Kravitz (“Superhero of the Year”), and F1 champ Max Verstappen (“Athlete of the Year”). Fraser, Kravitz, and a whole host of Tinseltown’s finest—including Travis Barker and Kourtney Kardashian, Pierce Brosnan, Anderson Paak, Nathan Fielder, Emma Chamberlain, and Big Fit Of The Night Award winner Pusha T—celebrated the issue at our annual bash in West Hollywood. Check out the scene at GQ’s 2022 Men of the Year party here.

Who are the sponsors of MOTY 2023?

Very solid question. This year’s event is generously presented by Google Pixel, Glenfiddich, State Farm, and Spotify.
