If Chris Hemsworth decides to hang up his hammer after Avengers: Endgame, there’s a new and somewhat surprising choice of actor who could step up to replace him in the next phase of the MCU. Comedian Jack Black just proved he has what it takes to lead his own superhero movie, sharing a video in which he mirrors (or attempts to mirror) the intense workout routine that Hemsworth posted to social media a few weeks back.

Geo-tagging his location on Instagram as “Asgard”, the School of Rock star also mimicked the caption in Hemsworth’s original post: “Mixing it up. Get creative. Keep moving. Variety is key!”, tagging Hemsworth and adding the question: “Who did it better?”

Turns out, the God of Thunder was suitably impressed, commenting: “haha you legend”. He then reposted the video onto his own Instagram feed, with the caption: “the student has become the master.”

It’s no surprise that Hemsworth is so happy with Black’s video; the Thor star recently launched his own personal fitness app, Centr, which empowers people to manage their own workouts without the need for expensive trainers or equipment. The app includes video workouts, meal plans, meditation techniques and expert advice.

“The whole thing was about not becoming stagnant,” Hemsworth said in the March issue of Men’s Health. “That’s when your emotional and physical problems occur, I think. I wanted to create some-thing that embodied the three main elements of healthy living-the movement, the nutrition, and the mindfulness-and present it in a way that’s entertaining, functional, and also accessible.”

Black’s video is a fun reminder that working out doesn’t have to be a boring slog. Fans can see him exercise his comedy and action muscles in the upcoming Jumanji sequel, which is slated for a December 13 release. Meanwhile, Hemsworth will be holding onto the mantle of Thor for a little longer in Avengers: Endgame, which will premiere on April 26.
