1. MARIAH CAREY: $10 MILLION

We’re totally not surprised that the queen of Christmas herself landed the top spot on this list. And while the singer/songwriter has been engaged more than once, it was her betrothal to Australian billionaire James Packer in January 2016 that provided the biggest rock. When Packer proposed, he really pulled out all the stops and gifted Carey with a 35-carat emerald-cut diamond set in platinum by designer Wilfredo Rosado. We repeat, 35 carats.

2. BEYONCÉ: $5 MILLION

When you’re marrying Queen B, we wouldn’t expect anything but a ring fit for royalty. And Jay-Z really delivered when he “put a ring on it.”

The private couple never announced their engagement. However, Beyoncé’s engagement ring made its stunning debut on September 6, 2008, on the red carpet for Fashion Rocks at Radio City Music Hall in NYC. The emerald-cut diamond ring with a split shank weighs a whopping 18 carats. Pretty impressive.

3. JENNIFER LOPEZ: $3 MILLION TO $5 MILLION

This girl from the block Bronx has rocked a total of five engagement rings in her lifetime. But out of the group of rings, her most recent one takes the cake as most expensive (and most beautiful).

After two years of dating, Lopez and Alex Rodriguez got engaged during a romantic getaway and the ring is truly a sight to behold. The former Yankee asked for her hand in marriage on March 9 with a 10- to 15-carat emerald-cut diamond ring.

4. Serena Williams: $2 million

Alexis Ohanian went all out when he proposed to Serena Williams in 2016. Not only did he return to the place where they first met, but he also gave her a $2 million ring that features a massive emerald-cut diamond, with one smaller gem on each side. According to Ringspo, this setting symbolizes the past, present and future stages of a relationship.

5. KIM KARDASHIAN WEST: $2 MILLION

If Kanye West is proposing, we’d expect nothing less than an over-the-top gesture—like not one but two engagement rings. The rapper upgraded his wife’s first ring with a second 20-carat one from celebrity jeweler Lorraine Schwartz. The D flawless type 2A rock (which Schwartz calls the “perfect cushion-cut diamond”) is set in a pavé band with an emerald-cut diamond taking center stage. Kardashian West no longer has the ring in her possession, however. It was one of the many pieces stolen when she was robbed in Paris.

6. KATIE HOLMES: $1.5 MILLION

Although Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise divorced, the Dawson’s Creek alum’s engagement ring (and love story) was one for the books.

Cruise proposed to Holmes in Paris, atop the Eiffel Tower in June 2005 with a five-carat Edwardian-cut oval-shaped diamond surrounded by another six carats worth of diamonds. And while she’s no longer Mrs. Tom Cruise, we’ll always love this nontraditional bling with a rose gold and platinum band.

7. Paris Hilton: $1 million

When Paris Hilton tied the knot with Carter Reum in 2021, we couldn’t take our eyes off her gorgeous ring. So, naturally, we reached out to an expert to get the 4-1-1 on her sparkler.

Designed by Jean Dousset, the ring is worth at least seven figures, according to Money. She said, “Paris’s stunning ring appears to feature a 15 to 20 carat emerald cut diamond, framed by two trapezoid or trillion shaped accent diamonds, and set on a delicate white gold or platinum band.”

8. JENNIFER ANISTON: $1 MILLION

Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux decided to call it quits after a little over two years of marriage. But her engagement ring is something we’ll never forget.

The ten-carat engagement ring from Theroux cost $1 million and was so big, Aniston needed some time to get used to it. “It’s a rock, I know,” she once admitted. “He rocked it up. It took me a while to get used to it. I’m not a diamond girl. I’m more Indian jewelry and stuff.”

9. GABRIELLE UNION: $1 MILLION

Professional basketball player Dwyane Wade proposed to his longtime love Gabrielle Union back in 2013 with an 8.5-carat, four-prong, cushion-cut engagement ring from celeb jeweler Jason of Beverly Hills.

According to TMZ, Wade had been on the hunt for months for the perfect sparkler, and his jeweler made three trips to Miami looking for the right jewel. And judging by her reaction, it was worth all the effort.

10. BLAKE LIVELY: $1 MILLION

Although the couple hasn’t revealed many details about the proposal, we do know Ryan Reynolds popped the question in 2012. And he did a fantastic job selecting the sparkler.

The former Gossip Girl actress’s accessory clocks in at a whopping 12 carats, which is about the same size as Jennifer Lopez’s ring from Alex Rodriguez. The engagement ring (also from Lorraine Schwartz) features a stunning oval-shaped pink diamond and is set on a rose-gold band with pavé details.

11. SOFIA VERGARA: $750,000

Sofia Vergara doesn’t hesitate to show off the dazzling bauble from hubby Joe Manganiello wherever she goes. And by the looks of the ring, we totally don’t blame her.

The Magic Mike actor popped the question on Christmas Day back in 2014. The four- to five-carat vintage-style platinum halo piece features a large cushion-cut center diamond. The Modern Family star described the ring to Ellen DeGeneres as “just a little sparkle...subtle, like me.” (We think we have different definitions of subtle.)

12. LADY GAGA: $500,000

We almost forgot that Lady Gaga was engaged to Taylor Kinney. In 2011, Kinney appeared in Gaga’s music video and the two had immediate chemistry and began dating quite quickly. Four years later, the actor got down on one knee and put a ring on it, a huge heart-shaped one to be exact.

Designed (again) by famous jeweler Lorraine Schwartz, the engagement ring was a six-carat heart-shaped diamond. However, the following year (2016), the couple called it quits on the relationship.

13. CARDI B: $500,000

Cardi is perhaps the only celeb on this list who was given three engagement pieces: a ring, a necklace and a bracelet (we’re not kidding). In September 2017, fellow rapper Offset popped the question to Cardi with an eight-carat tear-shaped diamond. Shortly after, he gifted his fiancée a matching diamond necklace and bracelet. Fun fact: The couple was actually already secretly married at the time. But hey, the ring just made it that much more official.

14. Eva Longoria: $500,000

Eva Longoria's husband, Jose Antonio Bastona, popped the question in 2015 during their romantic getaway in Dubai. Estimated to be around 6 to 8 carats, the designer of the ring hasn’t been confirmed, but it’s most likely custom-made.

15. KATE MIDDLETON: $400,000

Did you know that Kate Middleton’s engagement ring once belonged to the late Princess Diana? Yep, long after his mother’s passing, Prince William proposed to Kate Middleton with the Ceylon sapphire in a white-gold setting designed by crown jeweler Garrard as a “way of keeping her close to it all,” he explained in 2010. Neither seemed to mind that the 12-carat sparkler symbolized a marriage that failed to stand the test of time. Complicated history be damned, that’s one gorgeous piece of bling.

16. SCARLETT JOHANSSON: $400,000

This past May, Saturday Night Live’s Colin Jost proposed to the Marriage Story actress with an 11-carat oval-shaped yellow diamond. The gem is attached to a black band, and that unusual combination creates a vivid contrast (and makes the stone look even bigger). The designer is still unknown, but many believe it’s the handiwork of James de Givenchy (Hubert de Givenchy’s nephew). All we have to say is bravo, Colin.

17. HAILEY BIEBER: $400,000

Model Hailey Bieber (previously Baldwin) had a whirlwind romance with pop star and heartthrob Justin Bieber before quickly becaming engaged in July.

19. MEGHAN MARKLE: $350,000

This stunning three-stone sparkler from British jeweler Cleave & Company isn’t made up of any ordinary gems you’d find at your local Jared. Not only is the five-carat center stone from Botswana, a southern African country that Prince Harry holds near and dear to his heart, but the surrounding diamonds are from the late Princess Diana’s collection. After getting engaged in 2017, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were married in St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle the following year.

20. Ariana Grande: $300,000 to $350,000

After analyzing her IG footage, Mark Broumand, president of Mark Broumand Inc., , “This Toi et Moi style has a very unique look. The gorgeous white diamond and green emerald really complement each other. The two pear-shaped gemstones, a timeless cut that dates back to the 15th century, are showcased in a multi split shank design featuring round diamonds in a pavé setting set on platinum. It is modern, edgy and elegant.”

24. PIPPA MIDDLETON: $230,000

Kate isn’t the only Middleton with some expensive bling. Her sister Pippa’s gem also comes with a hefty price tag.

A few years after serving as the maid of honor for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s wedding, Pippa got engaged to wealthy businessman James Matthews. We imagine that Reese Witherspoon was smiling from ear to ear when Jim Toth popped the question with this stunner. Kathryn Money, Brilliant Earth’s senior vice president of merchandising and retail expansion, told The Zoe Report that it features an estimated 4-carat Ashoka cut diamond—one of the rarest and most desired gemstones.

"An Ashoka is a branded-diamond cut, which could be compared to an elongated cushion cut with more facets," she said. "Emerald and elongated cushion cut diamonds create a flattering look as their elongated shape lengthens the wearer’s finger."

27. Jennifer Lawrence: $150,000 to $250,000

Jennifer Lawrence’s shiny bling made its big debut back in 2019. And while she's been notoriously private about her love life, we still received an up-close look at her engagement ring when she attended Christian Dior's Paris Fashion Week show. 29. Lana Condor: $100,000

Prepare to swoon, because the story behind this ring sounds like it came straight out of a Hallmark flick.

According to the designer and co-owner of Paris Jewelers Canada, Chau Lui, the creation was inspired by the first song that Lana Condor and her fiancé, Anthony De La Torre, recorded together. She said, “It was a true honor to design this ring with Anthony for Lana. I listened to their first duet together ‘Raining in London’ on repeat while designing this ring, and so many details were inspired by their story and this wonderful song.”

Meanwhile, Condor described it as “the most stunning piece [she’d] ever seen.” She wrote, “The fact [that] he knew how important it was to me that he’d collaborate w/ a Vietnamese company to help design my ring is a testament to just how truly thoughtful he always is.”
