J.Lo and Alex Rodriguez "Indefinitely" Postpone Their Summer Destination Wedding in Italy
Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez have "indefinitely" postponed their upcoming summer wedding due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
The power couple are still planning to host the "wedding of their dreams" in Italy, but at a time when they can ensure their family and friends can all safely be together.
Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez are hitting pause on their wedding plans.
According to E! News, the A-list couple have "indefinitely" postponed their destination wedding in Italy, which was set to take place later this summer, due to the uncertainty surrounding the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
"They have been struggling for weeks over this decision, but with no return to normalcy in the near future, the couple felt postponing the wedding was the safest and smartest choice," a source told the outlet. "Guests have recently been notified that the wedding will not be happening in late summer as anticipated."
Lopez and Rodriguez are reportedly still looking for a possible new date for the wedding, but don't see the ceremony logistically happening anytime soon. Per the outlet, the couple still want to host the "wedding of their dreams" in Italy, but only when the time is right. Further, Lopez has previously stated that she's in no rush to marry the former Yankees star.
"It's so funny because when we first got engaged I was like, 'Oooh, we're gonna get married in a couple months?!' Your old thinking comes right back, all that hopeless romantic [stuff] that made me get married three times," recalled the Hustlers star during an interview with Oprah Winfrey. "[Alex was] like, 'Whatever you want to do, we can talk about it.' I said, 'But if we're going to be together for the rest of our lives, what is the rush?'"
With much of the world on lockdown due to the global health crisis, Lopez, Rodriguez, and their children have been relishing family time at home in Miami. The singer has also been working from home, sharing ways to stay positive, and reminding us all of a world before COVID-19.
