Davina McCall’s hit ITV show This Time Next Year has been axed after three years.

The series followed a series of people over 12 months who made life-changing transformations such as losing weight or plastic surgery.

The decision was confirmed by ITV in a statement.

“After three brilliant series of This Time Next Year – where over 100 people successfully pledged a resolution to help their lives in some way – we have decided to rest the show,” the studio shared.

"We'd like to thank Davina, the brilliant production team and all of the show's fantastic contributors for all of their hard work and for making the series such compelling viewing."

A source close to the show alleged that the decision was made “ a little while ago”.

“Frankly there are only so many people you can find that want to change their lives so drastically and they feel they’ve taken the show as far as they can,” the insider told The Sun.

“Normally it would be in production by now but it won’t be coming back again.”

Channel 4 also recently axed The Million Pound Drop, also fronted by Davina.

The 52-year-old is also a judge on ITV’s The Masked Singer, which has been a huge hit for the star.

The ITV singing show follows various celebrities perform with their identities disguised via elaborate and outrageous costumes.

Davina judges the singers alongside Rita Ora, Jonathan Ross and Ken Jeong, who recently chose to save Octopus after the face-off with Tree.

It was then revealed that acclaimed former footballer Teddy Sheringham was the man inside the costume.

He said after the show: “Having to wear a balaclava and blacked-out visor backstage so that no one recognised me was hard.”

The former England striker - who retired in 2002 aged 36 - revealed he had turned down a lot of reality TV shows, but signed up to The Masked Singer to impress his kids.

Sheringham - who has two children with wife Kristina Andriotis, 33 - said: “I've been asked to do everything over the years but always declined. I saw the show that aired in the States and thought I'd love to do that for my kids.”
