It's a Taxi, That Serves Noodles, Made Just for Hangovers (Yay!)

We’ve all been there. It’s the morning after a raucous night on the town and you don’t feel so hot. Even worse, it’s Thursday and you’re expected at work at 9 a.m. sharp. There’s no way you’re braving public transportation in this state.

Thankfully for hungover Londoners this past holiday party season, U.K.-based instant noodle company Kabuto Noodles had a solution: “Kab-U-To Work,” a taxi service that, for a week-long trial run, provided curative essentials on a first come, first service basis. Inside the car, lucky passengers found headache medicine, fresh orange juice, mints, sunglasses, and (naturally) a pot of hot Kabuto noodles. Better yet, Kabuto footed the bill.

Um, amazing?

People were thankful for it, according to Robert Pool, one of about ten London black cab drivers who ferried indisposed passengers for the service. Not that his riders said very much.

"Everybody I picked up was very, very appreciative. That was clear," Pool told us. "Most of them didn’t speak … But why would they be chatty? I don’t get hungover, but when people are hungover, they don’t want to talk, do they?"

Touché, Robert. Touché.

The promotion ended just before Christmas, but a Kabuto representative told us that the company is looking into bringing similar Kab-U-To Work trials to a few other cities in 2014. Might we suggest anywhere in these fine United States?
