  • Issa Rae reveals to BAZAAR.com that she would never rule out a cameo from Drake in an upcoming episode of her hit HBO series, Insecure.

  • "I think Drake is a big celebrity … but I would never say no to Drake being on the show," says Rae.

  • The fourth-season finale of Insecure aired on Sunday with a bombshell ending that left Twitter in shambles.

The hit HBO series Insecure has become known for its slew of surprise cameos from some of the music industry's most promising talent—whether it's Vince Staples performing at Issa's block party or SZA portraying LaToya in the series' faux crime doc, Looking for LaToya.

Speaking to BAZAAR.com about her show's fourth season, which came to a close last night with a bombshell finale, co-creator and writer Issa Rae, who also stars as series lead Issa Dee, says that she would never want a celebrity cameo to overpower the natural dynamics of the series. She would make an exception, however, for one of her personal favorite superstars.

"I love casting musicians, and that's something that we've done throughout the series, since Season 1. It's something that I love that A Different World did and Fresh Prince did back in the day. But I think when you have a big celebrity, that can be distracting sometimes," explains Rae. "So I love casting unconventional candidates. I think Drake is a big celebrity … but I would never say no to Drake being on the show."

She continued, "I would melt down," laughing after revealing her dream guest star.

[Spoiler warning ahead.] Though Sunday's conclusion left fans distraught for multiple reasons—Molly (Yvonne Orji) and Andrew (Alexander Hodge) seemingly broke up, Tiffany (Amanda Seales) went through a concerning experience of postpartum depression, and Lawrence (Jay Ellis) and Issa's reunion was put on pause due to Condola (Christina Elmore) revealing she's pregnant—Rae believes fans should remain hopeful for the episodes to come.

"So much of Issa's journey has been about denying who she is, not being honest about her feelings, and just really being obviously insecure about so much of her life," she says. "So a happy ending to me would just be Issa feeling happy and satisfied to give her whole self to the world."
