Issa Rae Just Got Married in Two Stunning Vera Wang Gowns

Issa Rae shone like a star at her recent wedding to Louis Diame. The actor, writer, and producer and her husband had a private ceremony in the South of France on July 25, Vera Wang confirmed in a press email. 

Rae joked that the pics she posted from the wedding were simply an “impromptu photo shoot in a custom @verawang dress.”

She then joked about her bridesmaids, “My girls came to help me, but they all coincidentally had on the same dress! They were sooooo embarrassed.” Ever the comedian, she even described her first snaps as a newlywed: “Then I took a few flicks with Somebody’s Husband.” The groom wore Dolce & Gabbana, in red velvet, it looks like.

She also included a shot of the gorgeous pink chateau where it seems the wedding took place (peep the altar and chairs). Rae added that the day felt “so real and special.” Aww.

For the ceremony, Rae wore a full-skirted white strapless gown and veil by Vera Wang Haute. She kept her makeup clean, and pulled her hair back into a pretty ponytail. She completed the look with stud earrings and metallic peep-toe heels. On Vera Wang's own Instagram page, the iconic designer wrote, “@IssaRae You look ethereal! Wishing you and Louis continued happiness and joy in your new life together 👏 👏 XX Vera 🤍 🤍 🤍” Wang also shared a moody black-and-white photo of Rae in her second look for the wedding reception: a plunging V-neck with straps. Wrote Wang, “For the reception [Issa Rae] chose a custom lily white Italian silk crepe plunging V-neck A-line gown with a layered tulle skirt accented by a dramatic front slit.”
