The Internet's favorite makeup trends make the perfect Halloween costume

If you’re notoriously lazy when it comes to Halloween, but tend to have last-minute regrets and try to pull together a costume right before your party, we’re with you. If you love petty internet drama, we’re also with you.

Yahoo Lifestyle teamed up with the glam squad at Blushington makeup and beauty lounge to bring you three Instagram-inspired costumes that are complete even without dressing up.

The look: Over-the-top Instagram makeup artist

The Instagram MUA has reached a level of absurdity that we didn’t know was possible. From feather brows to squiggle lips and overzealous highlighter, this is perhaps the scariest possible costume you can wear this year.

What you need: Nude and pink lip liners, pink liquid lipstick, brow pencil, a spoolie brush, glue stick, tinted highlighter, and clear gloss or Vaseline.

How to pull it off: After applying a base of foundation and a heavy-handed contour, start by parting along your brows using a spoolie and glue stick. Exaggerate the feather shape using a brow pencil, to create hair strokes. Next, create a squiggle outline along your lips, using a nude liner to ensure that the shape blends with your natural lip shade. Line the squiggle again with a pink liner and fill in with matching liquid lipstick. Complete the look with tinted highlighter on every high point of your face, and amp it up with clear gloss.

Bonus points: Take selfies with a Lumee case all night.

The look: A mermaid, but not basic.

The mermaid costume is a tried and true look that comes back each year without fail. If you just can’t resist the urge to channel your inner mermaid, fear not — you can do it without being basic.

What you need: Loose silver powder, different sized rhinestones, and lash glue or other skin-friendly adhesive.

How to pull it off: After applying a base of dewy foundation, use a loose silver powder around the perimeter and in the contours of your face. Paint the same powder in the hollows of your cheekbones, around your hairline and jawline, along the edges of your nose, on your Cupid’s bow, and across your lids and brow bones. Brush silver glitter onto your brows and lips, and finish by bejeweling your face using rhinestones and lash adhesive. Don’t be afraid to get creative with shapes and placement.

Bonus points: Wear a metallic slip dress with a mermaid silhouette and top it off with a crown.

The look: #TaylorSwiftIsASnake

After years of controversy surrounding Taylor Swift and other musicians, Twitter has touted #TaylorSwiftIsASnake. Whether you’re #TeamCalvin, #TeamKanye, or you’re simply here for Taylor embracing her snake persona with her latest album, this costume is for you.

What you need: Green, blue, and yellow cream eyeshadows, green powder eyeshadow, fishnet stockings, gold loose powder, and red lipstick.

How to pull it off: After applying a base of foundation, stretch a fishnet stocking across your face as a stencil to create snake-like scales. Press green cream eyeshadow into the skin through the stocking, focusing on the cheekbone, brow bone, and temple area. Add dimension by applying yellow and blue cream shadows in a blotchy pattern to mimic snake skin. Deepen tones and pull together the colors with an overlay of green powder shadow. Repeat on opposite side of face. Remove the stocking and dust gold loose powder across snakeskin areas and lids. Finish the look with Taylor Swift’s signature red lip.

Bonus points: Pair with a Peter Pan collar from ModCloth, a skater skirt, knee-high socks, and high-heeled Mary Janes. Stay petty.
