The Internet Is Losing Its Mind Over This Hot Cheetos And Vienna Sausage Combo, So I Tried It
Hey, I'm Liz, I'm a huge foodie, and I love trying out new recipes — BUT I was totally shocked when I discovered this wild food combo on TikTok...Vienna sausages and Flamin' Hot Cheetos.
Listen. When I was a kid, I actually loved Vienna sausages, and I also loved Cheetos. But together?

Now, I first found out about the combo when I stumbled upon @yayayayummy's viral video — which currently has over 1.7 million views — and I had to see what the hype was all about.

In the video, he says he'd eat the snack in college and describes it as "SO good," "meaty," "crunchy," and "spicy." And his steps are pretty simple: Crush the Hot Cheetos, drain the Vienna sausage, add the sausage to the bag, shake it up, and that's it!
@yayayayummy is known for trying ~unique~ food combos on his page, so of course, the TikTok got thousands of reactions in the comments. Some people were immediately skeptical:
And surprisingly, others were pretty open to the idea:
Then, in a viral TikTok video with over 4.8 million views, @ramenkingivan tried the recipe for himself, enjoyed it, and even made a fancy ramen version of it — with Vienna sausage meatballs.
So, I knew what I had to do.

I went to my local grocery store and grabbed my supplies: a can of Vienna sausages and a bag of Flamin' Hot Cheetos.
If you're a bit skeptical, I understand. I was too. You might like Hot Cheetos, but then there's the canned Vienna sausage — a mixture of chicken, beef, and pork sitting in some chicken broth. Here it is, opened and drained in all its glory:
Yeah, they look uncooked, but they're actually ready-to-eat straight out of the can. And in my honest (and unpopular?) opinion, they're not bad on their own!
Anyway, instead of crushing the Cheetos in the bag and dipping the sausages in, I crushed them in a Ziploc bag (I literally smashed it a few times with a huge can of chicken soup).

Then, I put the crushed Cheetos in a bowl and tossed the Vienna sausages around to get them coated. This part was kinda fun, TBH.

Here's the final result. Yeah, they don't look *that* appetizing.
Well, I gave it a taste, and I'm sorry to disappoint, but it was pretty anticlimactic. They were OK. Like, literally. Just OK.
Texture-wise: The Vienna sausages are pretty mushy, but you get a nice crunch from the Cheetos.
Taste-wise: They taste exactly how you'd think they'd taste. You get the distinct, meaty flavor of the Vienna sausage and then the spiciness of the Hot Cheetos. They don't necessarily complement each other, and the tastes don't really blend, but they also don't taste horrible together.
Score-wise: 6/10. I think?
If it helps, my mom tried it too. She said, "It's nice." But she also wasn't overly impressed!

I wanted to see if the flavors would blend together better by adding more Hot Cheetos, so I tried eating another one with literally an entire Cheeto. Then, I tried mashing together a sausage and some extra Cheeto crumbs to make a strange concoction. It didn't really make a difference or an improvement!
LOL. Kinda gross-looking. Sorry!
FINAL THOUGHTS:
Hot Cheetos and Vienna sausage? It's not the best thing in the world, but also not the worst! It's fun and easy to make, but I probably wouldn't go out of my way to make or eat this again. I'd rather eat these foods separately than together. But hey, if you wanna try it, go for it!
