This brand-new movie could dethrone Last Seen Alive if it continues to grow in popularity.
Introducing Mr. Harrigan’s Phone. Although the horror film just premiered on October 5, it’s already claimed the number two spot on Netflix’s list of most-watched movies. (It’s currently ranked behind Last Seen Alive but ahead of Inheritance, Mr. & Mrs. Smith, Rush Hour and Robin Hood.)

The story follows Craig (Jaeden Martell), a young boy who befriends an elderly man named Mr. Harrigan (Donald Sutherland). They develop a close-knit bond—so much so that Mr. Harrigan purchases him a cell phone. When Mr. Harrigan passes away, Craig continues to call him and share details about his life.
It doesn’t take long for Craig to realize that his messages are, in fact, being received by Mr. Harrigan. His late friend helps him from beyond the grave by seeking ghostly revenge on those who’ve wronged Craig.

In addition to Martell and Sutherland, Mr. Harrigan’s Phone also stars Kirby Howell-Baptiste, Joe Tippett, Cyrus Arnold, Iván Amaro Bullón, Josie Axelson, Thomas Francis Murphy, Colin O'Brien, Caitlin Shorey, Peggy J. Scott and Daniel Reece.

If the title sounds familiar, it’s probably because the story is based on Stephen King’s work. (It’s part of the If It Bleeds collection.) The film is written and directed by John Lee Hancock, who’s known for classics like Saving Mr. Banks, The Founder and The Alamo.
Be sure to add it to your queue…if you dare.
