Instagram’s Latest Beauty Trend Is Petting Puppies With Makeup Brushes

A tutorial I can get behind.

Puppies are pretty much born perfect, and hardly need any help looking their best. But that doesn't mean they don't like getting their makeup done, or at least want to pretend they're putting on their daily highlighter for that #glowup.

Enter Instagram's latest (and might we say, greatest) dog-related video trend since the Puppy Bowl: ASMR videos of pups being petted with makeup brushes — and loving every minute of it. (Honestly, same.) It's not immediately clear when this trend took off, but Insta-famous doggo account Adventures of Pippa and Clark shared a video on Monday of Pippa, a golden retriever sitting pretty as her fur is softly stroked with a fan brush. "Pippa wanted to remind you to be yourself because no one can do it as good as you can!" reads the video's caption.

Some of the pup videos are parodies of traditional makeup tutorials, with YouTuber noelani g letting a makeup brush glide over an already pretty puppy, explaining, "She has very nice brows, so we'll leave them natural...this time." Other videos feature less enthusiastic puppies who don't seem as interested in the brushes as implements of beauty and relaxation but more so as potential chew toys.

Beauty tutorials can sometimes be intimidating and complicated, but there's nothing we don't love about this latest viral trend, which we could easily spend hours watching. After all, is there anything the Internet loves more than cute dogs and makeup videos?
