Instagram influencer calls out diet shake company for their 'damaging products'

Instagram is crammed with dodgy companies promising miraculous weight loss by just drinking their diet shakes.

But now an Instagram influencer, fed up of receiving countless emails asking her to become a brand ambassador for these products, is hitting back.

Charlotte Rollin is a 20-year-old British fashion communication & promotion student who has a good following on Instagram.

I often speak about mental health with those I'm closest to IRL and I've also shared a lot on Twitter in the past but it's one of those topics in which the conversation is never really over, and sometimes 140 characters just isn't enough. Suffering with any kind of MH problem can feel like the most isolating thing in the world, especially when everyday tasks suddenly become impossible to tackle and manage. I think it's important on days like #worldmentalhealthday to speak up about our struggles, because all too often it's those who appear the strongest who might be struggling the most! Suffering with an anxiety and eating disorder myself, I know from firsthand experience just how daunting talking and sharing your struggles can be. Despite that, I've always advocated the importance of venting and getting things off your chest, no matter how small the worry may be. On days like this, I also think it's important to celebrate the achievements we have made in overcoming the challenges of being mentally unwell! I've just put a post live on my blog celebrating those achievements and talking about how I plan to turn the struggles from my anxiety into lessons for the future. Of course feeling positive in the darkest times can be the hardest thing in the world, but sometimes it can be the smallest things that end up making the biggest difference. And in regard to eating disorders, my biggest advice for anyone else suffering out there is something my dad often says and that is "you're a long time dead". What I take from this is that you have to YOLO your way through life as much as humanly possible and take absolutely every chance and opportunity that comes your way. It’s so awful to miss out on eating birthday cake with your pals, and to miss out on meals out and to miss out on SO MUCH because of that little voice in your head. It’s seems impossible to challenge it, but if you can just a tiny bit everyday then recovery seems like a truly viable and desirable choice. I know when you’re in the midst of being triggered then it seems like there’s no way out but please take this is a sign that you are good enough and you can do it ❤️💗
