How designer Joan Enger transformed a custom home with a subdued palette and a perfectly restrained aesthetic.
In order to create a custom house that appealed to a variety of styles, designer Joan Enger of J. PATRYCE DESIGN put together a stylish abode rooted in a subtle palette and restrained aesthetic. When Enger first approached the 100-year-old home, it hadn’t been lived in for 50 years; the front door was covered in graffiti, and the roof had a hole the size of a car. For 17 months, Enger worked with her developer husband to transform the property into a comfortable and classic home with a design that didn’t feel heavy-handed.
