January 2015
Before dating Cooper, Shayk was with soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo for five years. The star athlete announced their breakup in a statement to The Associated Press in January 2015. "We believed it would be best for both of us to take this step now," Ronaldo said in his message.
March 2015
Cooper and Suki Waterhouse broke up after two years of dating. A source told E! at the time that the couple split because Cooper wanted to start a family, but Waterhouse wasn't ready.
April 2015
Dating rumors for Cooper and Shayk started after the two were seen watching the Broadway production Finding Neverland together. At the time, the pair had already been "hanging out," sources told Page Six, but their relationship was still only "friendly."
Later that month, they were reportedly seen making out at Rihanna's Met Gala after-party, according to Page Six. The month after, they were seen kissing and holding hands after watching Hamilton, People reported.
August 2015
The couple was seen on a romantic getaway on the Amalfi Coast together. The genetically blessed pair was snapped cuddling and kissing in their swimsuits on the beach in Italy.
September 2015
Shayk was seen on the beach in Atlantic City, New Jersey, with Cooper and his mom, Gloria Campano, according to Us Weekly. It was Shayk's first time photographed with Campano, but it was unclear if it was her first time meeting Campano. About a week later, the model was spotted one-on-one with Campano in New York City.
March 2016
The couple made their red-carpet debut together at the L'Oréal Red Obsession Party during Paris Fashion Week. Shayk was announced as a brand ambassador for the French beauty brand in October 2015.
The day after, they followed up with a joint appearance at the Arop Charity Gala in Paris.
April 2016
The natural next step was making their relationship Instagram official. Shayk posted a snapshot of herself and Cooper from the neck down in the pool; she wore a teal one-piece swimsuit with a sexy lace-up detail. Cooper's torso was pictured behind hers.
May 2016
The duo arrived separately to the Met Gala (her in a blue Givenchy gown and him in a classic suit), but were spotted cozying up on the red carpet.
July 2016
The couple raised eyebrows when they appeared to have an argument at Wimbledon. Video footage from the match showed Shayk seemingly wiping away a tear while Cooper looked on beside her.

However, insiders insisted the couple wasn't quarreling. A source told E!, "Everything is fine," while other sources told TMZ that Shayk was just wiping her eyes because of allergies.
November 2016
Shayk kept her pregnancy private when she made her Victoria's Secret Fashion Show debut. The model even sneakily wore ensembles covering her stomach for the show. "No one suspected backstage" that Shayk was pregnant, a source at VS told People.
News that she and Cooper were expecting their first child together didn't break until after she walked the runway.
December 2016
Cooper and Shayk fueled engagement rumors when the model was spotted in L.A. wearing a Duchess Kate–esque emerald ring surrounded by pear-shaped diamonds on her left hand. The photo quickly launched gossip that the expecting couple's next step would be a walk down the aisle. However, they never personally confirmed the rumors.
Shayk has been seen wearing the sparkler in public, but not to all of her red-carpet appearances.

Cooper and Shayk welcomed their first child together—a baby girl named Lea de Seine.

The couple made a rare public appearance together for the Met Gala, where she stunned in a décolletage-baring gold gown with a thigh-high slit by Atelier Versace and he donned a Tom Ford tux.
They both flashed wide smiles and held hands while walking up the Met steps, posing for the sea of red-carpet photographers.
January 2019
The couple made another rare red-carpet appearance, this time for the Golden Globes, as Cooper's hit film, A Star Is Born, nabbed multiple nominations. Shayk once again went for a sexy gold Versace dress, while her man went for a white suit. The couple packed on sweet PDA inside the ceremony.
Days later, they followed up with another joint public appearance at the National Board of Review gala in New York City.
February 2019
The couple started off the month by attending the BAFTAs together, although they walked the red carpet separately. However, the actor thanked his supermodel love when A Star Is Born took home the BAFTA for original music.
"Most of all I have to thank Irina, for putting up with me for all the music I was trying to make in our basement for a year," he said in his acceptance speech. "Thank you very much. Thank you."
The couple later made their Oscars debut together, accompanied by Cooper's mom, Gloria Campano.

Cooper and Shayk officially split after four years of dating, with an insider telling People that they were "amicably working on a custody agreement regarding their daughter." Sources later told the outlet that the couple drifted apart and had been "living totally separate lives" due to their busy schedules.

Shayk opened up about the end of her relationship with Cooper for the first time since their split in a candid interview with British Vogue. "I think in all good relationships you bring your best and your worst—it's just the nature of a human being," she told the outlet. "Two great people don't have to make a good couple."
She added of her relationship with Cooper, "I think we've been very lucky to experience what we had with each other. ... Life without B is new ground."
The pair also reportedly came to a custody agreement earlier in the month, with the couple co-parenting their daughter in New York City. Sources told TMZ they agreed to split custody 50/50 hinting that they were totally in-sync about co-parenting.

Shayk mentioned Cooper in an ELLE interview, calling him "the most amazing dad." She also explained that she does not like to speak publicly about their past relationship.
"My past relationship, it's something that belongs to me, and it's private," she told the outlet. "It's just a piece of my inner self that I don't want to give away."

Weeks later, Shayk accompanied Cooper to the New York City premiere of his film Nightmare Alley. The actor told Entertainment Tonight that having her support is "very special."

Shayk and Cooper went on a tropical family vacation to the Bahamas, with the model sharing a photo of them smiling together as she leaned against the actor's shoulder. She also captioned the photos with a simple red heart.
The post came one month after sources told Page Six and People that Cooper had been in a months-long romance with Huma Abedin, a former aide to Hillary Clinton.

Page Six reported that the pair are considering getting back together following the family getaway and were allegedly discussing having more children together.
"It was a real family getaway and they are considering getting back together," a source told the outlet, adding that Shayk "would like her daughter to have a sibling."
The source added that neither Cooper nor Shayk has gotten serious with anyone else, and that they're both "into the idea of having a kid."
"It's not Bennifer 2.0 where the other person is always in the back of their head, it's more like, 'why not?'" the source continued. "They have to deal with each other anyway since they are parents together. They are both thinking, maybe it's time to finally really settle in."

Shayk and Cooper fueled reports that they have rekindled their romance as they were spotted embracing one another and showing PDA while walking the streets of New York City on Monday, November 7.
The actor and model were all smiles on the stroll with their dogs, just days after celebrating Halloween together.
Later in the month, a source told Page Six that the pair want to welcome a second child.
"He is on board to expand their family," the insider said of Cooper. "They are trying to get pregnant."

Cooper and Shayk spent Thanksgiving together along with their daughter, Lea, People reported.
A source told the outlet that the model is "very happy with" spending quality time with Cooper.
"She never enjoyed being single. She always hoped they could find a way to make their relationship work again," the insider continued. "Even though they always got along and co-parented well, their daughter is the happiest when they are all together. Irina still has her own place in N.Y.C., she spends most of her time at Bradley's."
