This is the innovative 'flip-flop' people are obsessed with
We've seen a few oddball footwear concepts in recent months, but the Link flip-shoe is possibly the most interesting of them all.
Have you ever wanted the freedom you get from wearing flip-flops while having the stability of a sneaker? Well, now you can — thanks to 'Link'.
Designed to combine the advantages of flip-flops and sneakers into one, these "sole-based-shoes" keep your feet free, cool and protected.
Link sets out to combine the breezy comfort on the flip-flop with the protection and support of a sneaker. They probably remind you of your typical closed-toes sandals — but to be fair, these flip-shoes appear to offer a better mix of cushy underfoot support with an easy slip-on design.
You're probably wondering where the toe protection is then, right? Link claims the design offers the cool summer comfort of flip-flops when out on the street but with better adherence to the foot while walking and less fear of toe-stubbing. The company even claims you can run, bike and skateboard in them.
The flip-shoes take just a few seconds to put on. Just step into each one, and make sure the sides are fully wrapped around your feet, and that's it. We can't forget to mention — these shoes mean avoiding those unwanted flip-flop tan lines on the top of your foot.
They're even made from an EVA cushioning material with anti-odor and anti-bacterial properties that provide both comfort and protection for your feet.
If you prefer your feet to breath a lot more than while wearing regular shoes or sandals, these Link shoes might be for you.
Link's flip-shoes are doing a lot better in crowdfunding than people might expect. Link hit its Indiegogo goal in just over a day after launching and ended up tripling that goal by their end date of July 22, 2019 — so someone is digging them. If that's you, you'll find them for early bird pricing as low as $69 per pair. If all goes according to plan, they'll start shipping in November of this year. Retail price is estimated at a far less enticing $119.
