An Incident at the 2009 Golden Globes Made Megan Fox Swear Off Alcohol
It was a combination of champagne, the Golden Globes, and Hollywood's PYTs that made Megan Fox quit drinking for good. In a video for WhoWhatWear, Fox explained that at the 2009 ceremony, she was seated with fellow up-and-comers Blake Lively and the Jonas Brothers and helped herself to a little too much of the bubbly on offer.
"I went through multiple glasses of that," she said. "I was belligerent and said a bunch of shit I shouldn't have said on the red carpet after that. I think I got in a lot of trouble for whatever I said on the red carpet at this event. I don't remember why but I know that I did. You can look that up. Now I don't drink and this is why."

E! News looked it up and found clips of Fox's interview with then-red carpet host Giuliana Rancic. During their chat, Fox said, "I'm pretty sure I'm a doppelgänger for Alan Alda," and went on to call herself a transphobic slur.
And the champagne-fueled rant kept going. Fox continued, complimenting Salma Hayek's breasts, saying, "I really want her boobs. Those are the most amazing boobs," and then explaining that her then-fiancé Brian Austin Green didn't want to attend the big show: "He doesn't want to be here. He doesn't want to be my date. He's a man. He has an ego."

While her look that night (beaded Ralph Lauren dress, tons of bracelets, and long dangling earrings) weren't affected by the champs, Fox recalled that she hated her look that night, making for a pretty regret-filled walk down memory lane.
"I hate wearing my hair back like this," she said in her WhoWhatWear video. "I cannot believe I allowed this to happen because I have a huge, round forehead, so I hate wearing my hair slicked back like that."
