Images of the Classic Nike Air Max 96 II ‘Goldenrod’ Surface — Here’s When It’s Expected to Release

After reissuing several iconic styles last year, it appears that another classic Nike Air Max will soon be hitting shelves soon.

The sneaker Twitter account @US_11 on Twitter shared Nike product photos of the Air Max 96 II “Goldenrod,” a style that debuted in 1996 and is reportedly expected to return to release at select Nike retailers this year just in time to celebrate the model’s 25th anniversary.

The look is executed with a navy mesh upper that’s coupled with white leather overlays while a yellow stripe with the Swoosh branding that stretches from the toe box to the heel. Adding to the look is the Air Max branding embroidered on the tongue and again on the heel. According to the aforementioned account, the midsole’s Air unit at the heel is slightly smaller than its original ’96 release.

Although images of the Nike Air Max 96 II release were shared by @US_11, the brand has not yet confirmed when the shoe is releasing.

While the return of the Nike Air Max 96 II “Goldenrod” appears to be imminent, this isn’t the first time that the brand re-released the classic running shoe. In 2016, the brand reimagined the shoe featuring a modernized Nike Ultra sole to help reduce weight while providing all-day comfort.
