IKEA is always at the forefront of sustainability, so it comes as no surprise that its next line of innovative products is targeted at reducing the amount of air pollution happening indoors. Meet the Förnuftig air purifier, which uses several filters to remove big and large particles like dirt, hair, dust, pollen, and other gaseous pollutants from your space.

Standing at 108 square feet or 10 square meters, this air purifier is perfect for small spaces and can be mounted on the floor or to the wall. It also has a low energy consumption cost, so no it will not ram up your light bill.

“At IKEA, we believe clean indoor air shouldn’t be a luxury for the few, and that’s why one of our main priorities in developing the Förnuftig air purifier was to achieve a low price for both the air purifier and the filters,” Henrik Telander, Product Owner at IKEA of Sweden, says in a statement. “Today, air purifiers aren’t a viable option for most people, in particular not for those living in small spaces. With this in mind, we optimized the air purifier for about 10 square meters, using less material in a smarter way, which enabled us to lower the price.

Available for the first time in North America starting today, this compact and affordable air purifier can be a game-changer for those of us who have made peace with the fact that our our home is now an actual place of refuge from germs. You can find the Förnuftig air purifier on IKEA's website for $54.99, along with filter attachments ranging from $5.49-$9.99.
