If you’ve been tested for COVID-19, you know the process isn’t exactly a good time. But actor Ian Somerhalder swears he has a way to make the infamous brain-swabbing test more enjoyable.

Somerhalder recently documented his first drive-thru COVID test in an Instagram video, and he was refreshingly real about the experience, all while bringing attention to the importance of getting tested for the virus.

“I’m kind of nervous,” he says in the video. “It’s kind of like taking your driver’s test, but for a deadly disease. Weird.”

As Somerhalder says, these truly are exceedingly “weird” times — and the actor added the necessary testing isn’t like any drive-thru he’s ever experienced.

The actor captioned his video with a pointed observation: “Not the same as getting fries and a shake... “ Noted.

Somerhalder then went to simply write, “Results: Negative,” adding a series of praying hands emojis to show his gratitude for his seal of good health.

Although the experience ended well, the wait for testing was a little boring by Somerhalder’s standards. So he used the impromptu Instagram PSA to propose a unique idea to liven things up.

“Idea: What about drive-in COVID testing? Watch a flick while you wait for results,” Somerhalder wrote on the post. “We’re doing @kissthegroundmovie. Drive-in movies all over the country! Win win!”

It's definitely a unique idea to make COVId testing more appealing — and a genius way to plug the climate change documentary you appear in somewhat nonchalantly.
