Squid Game's HoYeon Jung celebrated her first Emmy nomination in true It Girl fashion tonight at the Emmy Awards ceremony in Los Angeles: She stepped out on the red carpet wearing a sparkling lavender, peach, sage and black Louis Vuitton dress with a geometric pattern. She wore her hair in a bob, bangs swept to one side and topped with a hairpin.

Tonight, Jung is up for best supporting actress in a drama series for her work in the viral Korean Netflix series. The actress spoke to The Hollywood Reporter in an interview published Sept. 9 about her style evolution, especially since she has hit the award show circuit for Squid Game. (Jung started her career as a model.) “I don’t think the evolution [of my style] had anything to do with switching to acting because in my early years as a model, I used to be really out there,” she said. “I would put on really fierce makeup and outfits. But as I went through my career, I got really exhausted and gave up on dressing fashionably. I used to wear only sweats and casual clothes. Around five years ago, I found a balance where I’m fashionable but not too much, with just the right amount of hipness.”

For red carpet events like the Emmys, Jung said, “I listen to my team about their opinions and I would describe it [my red carpet fashion sense] as a very natural yet detailed style.”

As for her Emmy look, as of the time of her interview, she and her team hadn't picked it yet. “We don’t have it yet, but I will say that it’s going to be chic. And detailed,” she said, which ended up being exactly the case.
