But having tried the tip herself, she was amazed to see it worked a treat so decided to share the clever hack online.

Explaining that all you need is some washing up liquid or dish soap, which most people have in their home, Murphy simply pours the product into the toilet, lets it sit for a few minutes, before flushing it away.

She explained all she needed was some dish soap - which most people have in their home - and to pour it into the toilet, let it sit for a few minutes, before flushing it away.

“I leave the washing up liquid for 30 seconds to a minute which gives it time to lubricate the pan so it easily removes the blockages," Murphy explains.

“I was really happy it worked.

"Being a mum, I am always trying to find ways to clean without using many chemicals or making a big mess.

"If I use a plunger, I never know where to keep it after and I don't want to deal with the dirty water after."

Having uploaded an explanatory clip online, the video received a heap of praise from others hailing the simple but effective tip.

As well as impressing many online, those in the drain unblocking profession also gave it the stamp of approval.

“I’ve been a drainage man for 18 years and I’m only just hearing about this,” one professional drain unblocker commented.

As well as ridding the nation of unblocked drains, Murphy has a simple way of cleaning blinds.

“You can use really cheap fluffy socks to clean your blinds," she added

"All you need to do is put them in a cleaning solution and it will pick up all the dirt and dust from the blind.

“It is one of the best hacks to clean blinds, it gets everything off."

Murphy knows how tricky it is to keep on top of housework with a young family.

“I have a set of chores that I do every day, washing clothes, cleaning surfaces, dust. I keep my daily routine easy and simple,” she said.

“Organisation is key with kids," she continued. "Start with one cupboard and a couple days after do the other, soon you will have everything organised and in its place.

“An organised house is possible, even if young kids don't let it happen every time."
