Prime Day is quickly approaching, and many Canadians are counting down until Oct. 13, for what is sure to be Amazon’s biggest shopping day of the year. Following in 2019’s footsteps, this year’s event offers shoppers two days of savings on some of Amazon’s most popular items, including electronics, vacuums, smart home devices and more.

The event is exclusively available to Prime members, which means that if you’re not signed up ahead of time, you won’t be able to take advantage of the discounts. If you’re considering purchasing a membership, you may want to utilize Amazon’s trial period, which means you can save the $79 annual fee, or an $8 monthly charge.

How to save

Whether you’re new to the site or just haven’t gotten around to signing up, Amazon offers a generous 30-day trial period to test out the service. New Prime members are eligible for a free trial membership that grants a month’s worth of free two-day shipping, access to Prime Video, and of course, exclusive Prime Day sales.

Since we’re just about a week away from the big event, if you sign up now you’ll have full access to Prime Day 2020, including the famous Lightning Deals and other flash sale events. If you’re a student, you can get even more access to Amazon Prime, with six whole months of free membership once you sign up.

Before the free trial ends, you’ll want to make sure that you cancel your membership to ensure that you won’t be charged for the yearly subscription.

On the other hand, if you end up enjoying access to the thousands of Prime Video titles, thousands of Kindle e-books, and endless free shipping, nobody would blame you for holding onto the membership a little longer.

Sign up for a free 30-day Amazon Prime trial and take advantage of the early Prime Day deals right now.
