How Snooki Explained Cellulite to Her Kids Is Actually Pretty Awesome

Snooki doesn’t have time to worry about cellulite. The mom of two does, however, have a delightful way to explain it to her children.

“This morning my kids asked why I have lines on my stomach. I had to explain to them that it’s my tiger stripes I gained when I became their mommy,” the reality star turned fashionable mama captioned a photo of herself showing her midriff to her look-alike little ones, Lorenzo and Giovanna. “They thought it was so cool and can’t believe how they fit in my belly.” Also cool? Her body-positive message, which Instagram followers are all about.

Within two hours, the post racked up more than 100,000 likes and hundreds of comments from fans clearly feeling her post-baby body love. “That is the cutest thing ever” posted one, among an almost countless number of “Awwww”s. “Sooo sweet!!! I’ll be telling my son the same thing when he asks,” wrote another. Still more called out the Jersey Shore alum for her authenticity (“Thanks for always being real!”) while others took the opportunity to second her charming take with their own experiences: “My 3-year-old wants a C-section scar like mine,” shared a fellow mom in response. “It’s crazy how we see imperfections and they think it’s cool.” (Behold the wisdom of youth.)

But this isn’t the first time a post-MTV Snooki has repped self-acceptance. The fitness-focused mom — who these days more often than not goes by her real name, Nicole Polizzi — proudly embraces her short stature and isn’t afraid to make fun of her mom self and her self-proclaimed “saggy nipples!”

Thankfully, she is just the latest in a refreshing line of celebrity moms getting real about their lives — and bodies — postpartum. Just a couple weeks ago, country singer and mom of two Jessie James Decker posted a bikini-clad Instagram shot with a caption proudly declaring, “Do I look perfect? No!” alongside the hashtag #formymommies. At the Grammys last month, Snooki’s fellow former reality star Kristin Cavallari shared an Instagram post bluntly thanking “breast feeding for making my left boob perkier than my right.”

And of course, notoriously candid model Chrissy Teigen, who has unabashedly shared photos of her stretch marks on social media more than once, refreshingly admitted to the world last fall that she was not yet 100% comfortable with her post-baby body. But she didn’t let that stop her from shooting the Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue a mere six months after giving birth to her daughter.

Keep on keeping it real, mamas. We really need it.
