Patti LaBelle has a full menu planned for her Thanksgiving feast — and yes, it include sweet potato pie.
The legendary singer and food personality stopped by the Yahoo Food offices Friday afternoon to talk about Thanksgiving and her famous sweet potato pie.
Patti’s pies are the hottest dessert in the country thanks to a hilarious and touching viral video by Chicago singer James Wright. The pies are sold out at Walmart, but she’ll have a few on hand at dinner, as she explains in the video above.
She’ll also have an extensive spread including brisket, deep-fried turkeys, lobster mac and cheese, kale, cabbage and peach cobbler, among other things.
People can bring a dish, but they can’t linger in the kitchen: “Only Patti can cook in the kitchen,” she said. “Nobody comes to the stove but Miss Patti. Cut up the onions, green peppers and celery early for me, and then go to the basement.”
Patti also revealed in the clip below what else she’s got in store at Walmart, and if she would ever consider singing a duet with Wright after his performance on YouTube.
