Though the collision made for a scary moment on Tuesday night, Houston Rockets forward Robert Covington is fine and preparing for Game 4 on Thursday as planned.

Covington left Houston’s 112-102 Game 3 loss to the Los Angeles Lakers on Tuesday night midway through the fourth quarter after colliding with Anthony Davis. He said he passed both a concussion protocol test and does not have a broken nose.

"I did everything I was supposed to do yesterday, went through the protocol today and everything just to see how I was feeling and refresh the tests, just to see if things had gotten any worse," Covington said Wednesday, via ESPN’s Tim MacMahon. "But I passed with flying colors, so on to preparing for tomorrow."

Covington crashed into Anthony Davis

Covington and Davis were among several people fighting for a rebound midway through the fourth quarter on Tuesday night just before the pair went down with what initially appeared to be a scary injury.

As Davis was fighting up across the lane to grab the rebound, Covington was cutting across from the other direction. His head went right into Davis’ elbow as he hit Davis in the hip with his arm, sending both crashing to the floor clearly in pain.

Davis appeared to shake off the hit fairly quickly, however Covington remained on the court for several minutes while holding his face. He was finally helped up and off the floor while holding a towel to his nose, which was soaking up blood, and went to the locker room.

Covington finished the night there with 10 points and five rebounds.

“I think he got hit in the nose, and he was bleeding pretty good,” Rockets coach Mike D’Antoni said after the loss on Tuesday night, via ESPN.

Covington is officially listed as questionable for Game 4 on Thursday night. Based on his comments before practice on Wednesday, however, it’s unlikely that the 29-year-old won’t participate.
