While sitting with La Toya, Tyler said he was channeling Michael. “He’s putting a lot of emphasis on the person who should’ve been there to monitor,” Tyler said. “It’s like, ‘I trusted you to be there, I trusted the role that you were supposed to have to help me, and you left. And it’s like, of all times, you should be right here.'”
An autopsy revealed that Michael had died from an overdose of the anaesthetic agent Propofol, which had been administered by his doctor, Conrad Murray. Tyler recounted the drug’s effect on Michael: “There’s this feeling of, ‘Oh, this medication kicks in.’ I suddenly become affected by this medicine. It’s kind of like, a feeling of like, ‘Oh, my God, what do I do? I don’t want to waste time. Like, clearly something’s happening.’ And this happens very fast.”
Dr. Murray was convicted of involuntary manslaughter for his involvement in Michael’s death.
La Toya was thankful for the reading, telling Tyler, “You’ve answered the question that all of us … wanted to know, so I’m very grateful and thankful for that.”
