Holly Willoughby responds to people constantly 'commenting' on her stylish outfits

She has won a huge number of fans for her fashionable looks – but Holly Willoughby has said she hopes going forward that women can be "praised" for things other than what they are wearing.

Speaking ahead of the new series of Dancing On Ice, the presenter, 40, also spoke out against female stars having their clothing "compared".

As reported by the Mail On Sunday, she said: "I think women can exist on a panel without having to have their clothing compared.

"It's 2022. Now is the time for two women to be praised on things other than what they are wearing.

"I love people commenting. You're wearing a dress, people are going to have opinions. But I hate to think that it was against women in any way because I think life is hard enough."

However, Willoughby is still a fan of dressing up – adding that she enjoys choosing the stunning gowns in which to co-host Dancing On Ice with Phillip Schofield.

She described the show's fittings session as her "favourite" day of the year, and leaves feeling "like Cinderella".

Similarly, the mother-of-three regularly posts pictures to her Instagram of the outfits she wears for public appearances, and her – often affordable – dresses for This Morning frequently sell out on the high street.

Willoughby, who began sharing details of her chic ensembles on social media in 2017, currently has a deal with Marks & Spencer that is understood to be worth around £2 million.

On Thursday, she shared to Instagram a picture of her outfit – a stunning red floor-length gown – for the Dancing On Ice press launch.

The bespoke dress was by Israeli designer Lihi Hod, and the star accessorised with a pair of rose cut diamond earrings.

Earlier this week, she also posted snaps of ensembles that she wore for This Morning from brands Rixo, LK Bennett and Maje – and received thousands of 'likes' and hundreds of adoring comments complimenting her fashion sense.
