Hold My Pinkity Drinkity – James Charles is Worth SO MUCH!

From Seventeen

2019 was a rough year for beauty YouTuber James Charles. A very public beef with fellow beauty YouTuber Tati Westbrook (that Jeffree Star got involved in because of course) left James on the receiving end of tons of backlash. Not only did he end up losing a few million followers before things died down, but the repercussions followed him in 2020. But that didn't end his career. In fact, James Charles's net worth continues to grow — and you might be shocked to find out just how much he makes.

If you remember, James got his big break after he was named CoverGirl's first male spokesperson back in 2016. That deal not only brought the beauty vlogger tons of cash on its own, but helped launch his makeup career that would lead to way more money-making opportunities in the future.

Now, James is best-known as one of the most-followed YouTubers in the world, with a social media following that puts celebrities to shame. At more than 22 million subscribers on YouTube, James has a bigger YouTube following than the most popular beauty bloggers (and Kylie Jenner). All those video views, help bring in cash.

James's Instagram count beats out all your favorite influencers – at 22.9 million, he's got more Insta followers than NikkieTutorials, Jake Paul, Jeffree Star, and Bretman Rock thanks to his fans he calls Sisters. And all that influence, means lots of endorsements and money-making opportunities.

His Sisters have also allowed James to start a whole new business venture. He launched his own merch line Sisters Apparel complete with hoodies, sweat pants, T-shirts, and accessories all emblazoned with the word "Sisters."

And let's not forget that The James Charles Palette that was released in collaboration with Morphe was all over the beauty world when it was released. James also has discount codes at Morphe, Lilly Lashes, Laura's Boutique, and Skindinavia – which means he gets cut a check every time someone enters "JAMES" at checkout.

James has also had some experience walking the runway. He walked in LA Fashion Week in 2017 and 2020.

In April 2020, the YouTube show Instant Influencer premiered. James hosts the show in search of the next social media star and it surely brought him a nice check.

In a huge accomplishment, James bought his first home in 2019. In his house tour, he reveals that he bought the house in November of that year and had been renovating it for months before sharing the news with his fans. According to Distractify, he bought the house for $7 million so it's probably worth much more after all his renovations.

All that combined, James is worth $22 million, according to Celebrity Net Worth.

Even though in 2019, he lost about 3 million subscribers during his infamous feud with Tati and he cancelled part of his Sisters Tour in the aftermath, he's still making money with his fans support. According to Tagger Media, an influencer marketing platform, James makes most if his money from video views, so he'll continue to make money off of YouTube, even if a drop in subscribers may have lowered his income from that platform.

According to Tagger, the recent drama and controversy surrounding the influencer will mostly impact his ability to land deals with other brands, who may be deterred from seeking partnerships with him. However, considering he still has a sizeable and super loyal fan base, he can continue to make money from other sources like meet and greets. The beauty vlogger also recently tweeted about filming an episode, leading some to speculate a TV deal may be in the works. For the time being, James is still rich, so brb, going to try to make it as a beauty influencer.
