Hoda Kotb has regularly spoken about her desire to find love again since she and Joel Schiffman, 65, who she was with for eight years, called off their engagement in January 2022. And she opened up once again when she appeared on Bethenny Frankel’s Just B podcast on June 8th, telling the Real Housewives of New York City alum that she knows she’s “on the road” to finding love again.

“Sometimes I have a vision,” Hoda confessed when Bethenny asked her if it was important for her to be in a relationship with a man now, and if she proactively puts it out there because she wants it in the universe. “I picture this road that I’m on, and it’s lush and beautiful,” she continued, adding, “I picture my kids, and sometimes I have a vision of a man walking with us.” She added, “I know I’m on the road. Sometimes I can see it, and sometimes I can’t,” before ultimately revealing, “I’m open.”

The ladies discussed a number of things on the podcast, including what being an older parent is like. Hoda, 58, confessed that she “sometimes does the math” to calculate whether she could be there for important milestones in her daughters’ – Haley Joy, 5, and Hope Catherine, 3 – lives, such as their weddings and the birth of their own children, saying: “I look at my mom, who’s 86, and I think to myself, ‘OK, what’s the difference here between me and her? 30 years. OK, that’s kind of good.’ So I add 30 to Haley and I add 30 to Hope. And I think to myself, won’t that be spectacular? I can do that.”

“Wouldn’t that be amazing? Do I get to see them get married? Maybe. That would be really good. Or do I get to see them have a child? Maybe. That would be really good,” she continued, adding: “I think about it, but I don’t think about it on the end of, ‘Oh, no, I won’t be able to…’ I would be delighted if all those things were possible, and I think that would be special.”

Hoda Kotb Discusses Single Life In New 'People' Interview

In a June 1st 2023 interview with People, which coincided with the 25th anniversary of Sex and the City (wow, has it been 25 years already?!) the Today co-anchor said that she doesn’t actually mind being single, as the show gave being single a whole new meaning! Speaking to the mag about how Sex and the City changed the way we looked at being single, Hoda said: "It made being single cool. It made you feel empowered and not left out."

She added: "People were sitting alone in their apartment going, 'Am I the only one?' No, you're not the only one. You’re with your friends. It reminded us: if we have great relationships, we have enough. That is what it taught us back then. There was something brilliant about the whole concept." We couldn't agree more!

Hoda Kotb Previously Said She Wanted Jenna Bush Hager To Set Her Up

By that logic, Hoda is still single and empowered (unless there's something she's not telling us!) but at the same time, wants to find her Mr Right following her and Joel's split. If you'll recall, Hoda and Joel got engaged in November 2019 and announced their separation in January 2022, after eagle-eyed Today viewers noticed that Hoda was no longer wearing her engagement ring.

Hoda has discussed the prospect of moving on several times since she revealed that she and Joel had called off their engagement, including the time she asked friend and co-host Jenna Bush Hager to set her up. Hoda told Andy Cohen on the November 29th, 2022 episode of Watch What Happens Live that she was currently waiting for Jenna to introduce her to the right guy, saying: "Have I gone on any dates since Jenna said she was going to set me up? Not yet. But I’m saying yet, ’cause I actually think that Jenna’s got a really good track record of setting people up. There’s someone who got married as a result of a Jenna setup." Jenna then chimed in: "There’s things coming. It needs to be the right guy, right?"

Hoda Previously Said She Can 'Sometimes Feel' Her Future Partner

This isn’t the first time Hoda has opened up about her relationship status. On the Tuesday, November 15th episode of Today with Hoda & Jenna, Hoda suggested that she doesn’t mind being single for the moment, as she was confident that her Mr Right would soon be on his way. She recalled a conversation she had with her sister, and said: "For everybody who is at a phase in their life where they may or may not be with a partner. My sister said to me once, 'Are you afraid of being by yourself?' And I know this is so weird, but I said to her, 'I am not going to be by myself.'"

"Like, I actually know it," she continued, adding, "But I know with certainty – and it’s the strangest feeling to know that. Like, I can sometimes feel him, but I don’t see what he looks like, but I feel like it will happen. So if someone is like, 'Maybe you’ll meet someone by Christmas…' Maybe! I’m not on the hunt, but I have a weird, like, tingly Spidey-sense about it."
