Hoda Kotb Has Fans Talking About Wedding Bells After Seeing Her Instagram With Joel Schiffman

Hoda Kotb and her fiancé, Joel Schiffman, have been patiently waiting to walk down the aisle.

Since getting engaged in November 2019, the Today show coanchor has been open about planning her wedding to the financier amid the coronavirus pandemic. Now, after postponing their special day two times already, some fans are speculating that the lovebirds have finally tied the knot in secret.

It all began on Saturday when the 56-year-old NBC star posted a photo of herself and Joel smiling together. It’s unclear where the couple was, but the picture's background suggests a tropical place.

“Fun in the sun❤️☀️,” Hoda captioned it.

Hoda’s fans immediately flooded the Instagram comments section with sweet messages for the duo. “What a happy couple! Your smiles could light up a room!! 😍😍😍,” one person wrote. “Cutest couple ever 😍😍😍❤️❤️❤️,” another added. “Love this pic! You two look SO happy!!! I hope that maybe you are getting married soon! 💕,” a different fan said.

That said, there were others who shared their suspicions that Hoda and Joel might have already walked down the aisle and exchanged their vows. “Hoda is somewhere with palm trees? I’ll bet she got married this past week and is on her honeymoon somewhere ❤️,” a follower commented. “Waiting for the wedding pictures!! Hopefully soon!!! 👰🏻 🤵❤️🙏🏻💃🏼,” another said. “Love this photo. Looking particularly happy. Tied the knot perhaps 😉,” someone else added.

A few days before sharing the heartwarming Instagram, Hoda’s fellow Today cohost Jenna Bush Hager asked for an update on the wedding. According to the bride-to-be, it’s still important for them to have their family and friends be a part of their big day and they are continuing to work out details.

“We’re just trying to make sure that everyone can travel, that’s really what we want to do,” Hoda said during the fourth hour of Today. “We want to do it in a place that we love deep in our soul that means a lot to us and we want our closest to come.”

Originally, the couple announced that they were hoping to have a destination wedding in the fall of 2020. But due to the COVID-19 pandemic, they decided to push back the date and began aiming for this summer in New York instead. Now, it sounds like fans (and Joel!) are ready for the celebration to take place.

“Joel kept saying, ‘Why are we waiting? Let’s just go already,’” Hoda also told Jenna.

We’ll just have to wait and see if we hear anything. In the meantime, the Today show has hinted that the wedding will, in fact, happen this year.
