The 2020 U-20 tournament will be split between two cities in the Czech Republic, Ostrava and Trinec.
Canada’s camp roster is headlined by some premier young talent, but also features some 20-year-old “veterans.”
2020 draft-eligible forwards like Quinton Byfield and the likely first-overall selection Alexis Lafrenière are some of the team hopefuls. Forward Akil Thomas and defenceman Ty Smith will supply some of the experience on this camp roster.
Lafrenière, Smith and defenceman Jared McIsaac are the only players of the 31 listed that were on last year’s team.
Ottawa Senators prospect Jacob Bernard-Docker and Calgary Flames prospect Jakob Pelletier are the only prospects of a Canadian NHL team to be named to this edition of the roster.
The tournament will be held between Dec. 26 to Jan. 5, beginning with the Boxing Day matchup between the United States and Canada.
