Get ready to wipe away your Lauren Conrad mascara tears before they even fall, because The Hills: New Beginnings is getting a second season. That means more Justin Bobby, more Pratt family feuds, and more Mischa Barton...existing.
Here’s everything we know so far (which, admittedly isn’t much).
Sorry to repeat myself, but the new is official. MTV announced it last week, before the first season of the reboot has even finished. New Beginnings is obviously a very different show than the OG, and you can probably expect that to continue into season 2.
“The title says it all—New Beginnings. This time around the cast are 30-somethings and many are at a pivotal crossroads in their personal and professional journey,” Nina L. Diaz, president of entertainment for MTV, told The Hollywood Reporter. “The cast let us into their lives to reveal some of the truths of their new reality and their real emotions as they experience these new beginnings.”
Stephanie Pratt might not return.
In a truly bizarre Instagram post, Stephanie eluded to the fact that she won’t be returning for the second season. She called her brother evil and had this to say about Heidi: “and Heidi—I have no words for how evil you truly are.”
She did thank Justin for being her “rock” during the season, but basically she was like, “I’m out.”
We might get a glimpse of Heidi’s music career.
In the most recent episode, Heidi talked to Justin about how she wanted to revamp her music career.
“I’ve had a lot of time in the past few years to reflect, and one of the biggest things in my life is being a Christian. So, I really want to put out a great, faith-based, positive song,” she told him.
“I feel like now, where I’m at, is more of a heartfelt, Christian vibe. [It’s] pop music, but there’s a Christian message. It’s just one song, but I want to do something good and send out a positive message to the world.”
So maybe that’ll be a plot for season 2? TBD!
This post will be updated as more info about season 2 becomes available.
