Hilary Duff Calls Out Horrible Neighbor
Celebrities, they're just like us! No really, they are. Even your favorite stars have annoying neighbors - just ask Hilary Duff. This morning, the actress - who is currently filming her TV show Younger in New York City - posted an Instagram story explaining the trouble she's been having with a guy who lives in her building. Let's dig in, shall we?
She starts with a couple videos calling out someone named Dieter Addison - literally, his name (in different colors and fonts) is written all over her posts. In the first video, Duff sends out an SOS, saying, "Calling all New Yorkers with asshole neighbors … really open to any advice you have. My neighbor smokes cigarettes and weed all night long. My apartment wreaks. Seriously, what do I do?!"
Next, she goes for the throat, taking stabs at Addison's personal life, and even his cleaning habits. "We know your parents pay your rent, we know you’ve never worked a day in your life … must be nice. Have some respect for your neighbors who work hard to live in that building. Don’t be a dick dude. And put your trash down the chute!" she said.
So, right about now you might be thinking, 'Isn't she being a little harsh?' But this guy's smoking habit and inability to take out the trash are just the beginning. Apparently Duff has been losing sleep thanks to "Dieter the Dick."
The problems are so bad, it's even starting to affect her six-year-old son, Luca.
"And another thing ... stop breaking all your furniture when you fight with your girlfriend or boyfriend ... it scares me and my kid 😔 therapy is cheaper ..." she wrote. Yikes.
At this point, as a diehard Cinderella Story fan, I'm fired up. Who is this guy? Why does he think it's okay to be a garbage neighbor to the QUEEN of my childhood? Where does he live?! I'm gonna go knock down his door and - oh, wait! She found him on social media!
Look out, Dieter Addison! Now that I have your Instagram handle, I'm going to start a campaign online and get thousands of people to report your account! Just kidding. Maybe.
Page Six spoke to Addison on Wednesday, reporting that he's hiring lawyers because he doesn't spoke pot, and that he lives full-time with a sober companion.
"I've been sober for months now," he told the site. "I've been sober for months now. I smoke a ton of cigarettes, don't get me wrong, but this is a smoking building, which is why I signed the lease here."
