This High School Student May Have Won Prom in the Most Glam Jumpsuit

Faith Thigpen — who stars in Lifetime’s dance reality television show Bring It! — turned heads at her high school prom in a Kardashian-inspired jumpsuit.

For her Murrah High School prom in Jackson, Miss., the 16-year-old wore a custom-made jumpsuit by designer Angel Brinks. Thigpen posted a number of photos from the big night on her Instagram account, showing off her unique, sparkly look.

In finding her prom look, Thigpen knew exactly what she wanted. “It was inspired by the Kardashians,” she tells Yahoo Style. “Our theme was the 1920s The Great Gatsby. My mom and I saw pictures from the Kardashians’ Gatsby-themed blinged-out party, and we were immediately inspired!”

The Kardashians donned glitzy ensembles at Kris Jenner’s 1920s-themed birthday party in November 2015.

Thigpen’s look was also strikingly similar to the Balmain dress Kylie Jenner wore to the Met Gala in 2016.

Thigpen shared that the staff at Angel Brinks was extremely involved in helping her find the jumpsuit of her dreams.

“I did not work with Ms. Angel Brinks directly; however, I was able to Facetime with some of her staff, and they helped me with a lot,” she shares with Yahoo Style. “For example, making sure my measurements were exactly right and emailing me consistently before and after the arrival of the outfit. They were very kind and polite, and they gave me the impression that they wanted to make sure everything was perfect.”

Her look received praise from Brinks herself, as she posted photos of Thigpen on prom night to her Instagram account, thanking her for choosing the brand for the event.

“It was our pleasure to make this bodysuit for Lifetime “Bring It!” Star @iamstard0m Prom!” Brinks captioned the image. “She added the train/skirt & mask to our beautiful bodysuit! Thank you for choosing us! I hope you had an amazing time and I know everyone loved it! You look gorgeous!”

Thigpen says that a lot of preparation went into getting ready for the event. “It took me approximately five hours to get ready for the complete look — hair, makeup, etc. My mother, Dana Roilton, and my bonus-mom/stepmom, Kristen Thigpen, helped me get ready for my big night!” she says.

She was incredibly excited about her final ensemble. “I thought the end result was amazing!” Thigpen says. “I didn’t expect it to all come together like that. I’d seen the outfit and all the pieces to go along with it, but I never actually saw the whole thing until that night. Once I finally looked in the mirror at myself I was lost for words and almost in tears.”

Thigpen also couldn’t wait to show it off. “I was very confident in my look, not to sound boastful or anything, but if you aren’t confident in yourself no one else will be confident in you,” she says. “My mom taught me that you have to own your look in order for you to make it believable.”

The teen star shared that she had a great time in her jumpsuit at prom with her best friend, Denicia Diew.

“My night was amazing! I had a lot of fun. I never danced so much and took so many pictures at a school event in my life. It was definitely how I imagined my first prom to go,” Thigpen says.

Her ensemble won the approval of her peers as well. “My classmates loved it!” she shares. “They were superexcited for me. Some that didn’t know me that well were very shocked and in awe, but those who knew me weren’t shocked at all. Some even made funny comments like, “Is it sad that I expected nothing less from you?”
