Home décor enthusiasts were thrilled when HGTV announced earlier this year that Extreme Makeover: Home Edition is returning to television in 2020. Now, the network has even more exciting news: It wants YOU to be on the show!

Casting for the reboot of the series has officially begun, according to the HGTV website. They are searching for "people who deserve a new place to live and who have uplifting, inspirational stories that must be told." The 10-episode revival aims to spotlight families who give back to their communities, despite their own personal challenges. During the new season, viewers will watch home design experts compete in a weekly race to finish a custom renovation for one deserving family. Can you imagine if that was you or someone you know?!

"Extreme Makeover: Home Edition is such an iconic show," said Kathleen Finch, chief lifestyle brands officer for Discovery. "It's an emotional story centered around a house. There is real drama, and real stakes around a home being rebuilt."

Along with the casting announcement, HGTV shared another twist: Unlike the original series, the reboot is expanding its search, and encouraging renters and people interested in relocation to apply as well. In other words, you don't need to be a homeowner to be considered!

Think you or someone you know could be a fit? Visit this website for more information on how to apply or nominate a family for consideration. Submissions must include photos of the family and their current residence, with the option to upload a two-minute video to explain the applicant's story.

Now, please excuse us while we binge-watch old episodes and daydream about what our new home will look like.
