Extreme Makeover: Home Edition is making its way back to your TV screens, and even though the first episode of the reboot hasn't aired yet, the show is already making us ugly cry. HGTV and De Young Properties recently came together to build a new home in Clovis, California for local fire captain and widowed father, Nick Reeder.
Less than two years ago, Reeder's wife passed away, leaving him to raise their three daughters. The entire town came together to create a cottage-style home in about 96 hours' time. Imagine more than 1,000 people working side by side in such a short amount of time and their finished product being a whole freaking house. CHILLS.
“Nick went through so much and it means a lot to us that he has a good life,” De Young Properties Executive Vice President Brandon De Young told News at 11.
Volunteers even expressed how doing this for Reeder was such a heartwarming feeling. "If nothing else, this has been a testament to the true community for Fresno and Clovis,” said Volunteer Coordinator Rae Matsen. “It has been amazing.”
At this time, you'll only be able to see the exterior of the house—the full reveal will come when the episode airs in January 2020. In the meantime, stock up on plenty of tissues and get ready to say: "Move that bus!"
