Here's Why Fans Think Billy Is Going to Die in Stranger Things Season 3

Fans are sharing their theories for the new season.
Some fans believe that Billy Hargrove will die sometime during the season.
When it comes to our favorite TV shows, there are characters we love, characters we love to hate, and then there are characters that we just flat-out hate. Stranger Things' Billy Hargrove definitely fits into the "hate" category, as the teenage bully spent season two trying to hit children with his car, being mean to his stepsister Max, and fighting with fan-favorite Steve.
Promos for season three have shown that as the resident Hawkins lifeguard, Billy is now the object of several housewife crushes, with Nancy and Mike's mom Karen showing the most interest in him. However, it seems like Billy may not be long for the Stranger Things world, as numerous fan theories on r/StrangerThings have pointed out reasons why it seems like Billy will die in season three.
Billy will die because he's in the Upside Down.
As u/Anglasstext pointed out, on the season three poster, Billy is in the Upside Down, which seems like a pretty telling sign of things to come. While one user questioned why Billy's car is also there, kurisu7885 explained that "For all we know a version of it is already there, like how Will found the stereo at his house with that mix tape in it so he could tell his mom he was there, like all the overgrown cars already sitting there."
Billy will die because his name starts with B.
User TGA-52 explained that they think Billy will die simply because of his name. "Every season someone dies with the first letter in there [sic] name being a B. First dr Brenner next Bob....barb died in season 1."
While the deaths of the "B" characters might just be a coincidence, it's still a pretty interesting theory. But that also means that Aunt Becky might be in trouble.
Billy will die after being infected by the rats seen in the trailer.
In the season three trailer, there's a shot of Billy in the shower as he examines a red and black growth on his arm.
Billy is back and he's a lifeguard at the local pool.

Another fan on Twitter pointed out that Billy seems to be hiding that arm in a promo shot, and other users on Reddit believe that this still shot shows that the infection is spreading.

PopSugar went even further with the theory, as they believe that Billy will become infected and then turn into the creepy new monster that we see at the end of the trailer.
Luckily, we only have two weeks left before we find out about Billy's fate in season three.
