Joel Kim Booster's heartfelt and hilarious film Fire Island debuted on Hulu last week, and I haven't been able to get it out of my head. Jeong Park / © Searchlight Pictures / Via Everett Collection
The all-queer cast was the best part of the movie, and I wanted more of them! If you do, too, here's where to find them: Jeong Park / © Searchlight Pictures / Via Everett Collection
Joel Kim Booster as Noah Joel Kim Booster plays our leading man, Noah. You might have seen him before in the short-lived NBC Sitcom Sunnyside , where he stole the show as Jun Ho, a mega-rich and mega-funny immigrant seeking citizenship alongside his equally funny and equally rich twin sister, Mei Lin. He also played Tony in Hulu's Shrill , and voiced Charles Lu in Netflix's Big Mouth as well as Jingle Jim in HdBO Max's Santa Inc.
Jeong Park / © Searchlight Pictures / Via Everett Collection Bowen Yang as Howie Bowen Yang made us fall for him as Howie, the hopeless romantic and karaoke king — seriously, "Sometimes" has been stuck in my head since I saw Fire Island . If you've watched SNL anytime in the last three years, chances are you've seen Bowen Yang in a skit. He also starred as Edmund, the cousin of Nora, in Comedy Central's Awkwafina Is Nora From Queens , and had smaller guest roles in HBO's High Maintenance, Peacock's Girls5eva , and HBO Max's The Other Two.
Jeong Park / © Searchlight Pictures / Via Everett Collection James Scully as Charlie James Scully played Howie's well-meaning but easily swayed love interest Charlie, but in the past, he's played more polarizing roles — like the strange, evil twin brother of Love Quinn in Netflix's You. Yep, that's Forty Quinn — the man who haunts Joe both in real life and from beyond the grave. Before that, he starred as JD in Paramount's series reboot of Heathers, and appeared as Ryder, the problematic (but funny) friend of Todd, in the indie film Straight Up .
Jeong Park / © Searchlight Pictures / Via Everett Collection Conrad Ricamora as Will Conrad Ricamora played the misunderstood and adorable Will. He also plays plastic surgeon Dr. Jake Wong in Fox's doctor drama The Resident , and he starred as Oliver in How to Get Away With Murder .
Jeong Park / © Searchlight Pictures / Via Everett Collection Margaret Cho as Erin Beloved lesbian house mother Erin, played by Margaret Cho , is the glue that keeps the Fire Island family. IRL, Margaret is an Emmy- and Grammy-nominated comedian/songwriter whose comedy specials, like Psycho (2015), you might have seen. She's been acting for a long time now, making appearances in movies like Senior Project, 17 Again , and I, Challenger, as well as holding recurring roles in shows like 30 Rock and Drop Dead Diva.
She's also starred as herself in Good Trouble and The Bold Type , and played roles in Awkwafina Is Nora From Queens and High Maintenance like her co-star Bowen Yang. Currently, she stars as Ma Deb in the Hulu original series Sex Appeal.
Jeong Park / © Searchlight Pictures / Via Everett Collection Matt Rogers as Luke Matt Rogers (left) plays the lovable (and sloppy drunk) Luke. Previously, he's played guest roles in Search Party , Shrill, and Awkwafina Is Nora From Queens. He's also lent his voice to animated shows like Netflix's Q-Force as Twink, and Showtime's Our Cartoon President , where he voiced multiple characters.
Currently, he stars as Darcy Leeds in Showtime's I Love That for You , a hilarious new comedy featuring former SNL star Vanessa Bayer as the lead.
Jeong Park / © Searchlight Pictures / Via Everett Collection Zane Phillips as Dex Zane Phillips plays the good-looking but bad-meaning Dex. You may recognize him from CW's Legacies , where he plays Ben, a queer demigod.
Jeong Park / © Searchlight Pictures / Via Everett Collection The other incredible cast members are just getting started, so keep an eye out for more from them in the future! And if you haven't watched Fire Island yet, what are you waiting for?! Maybe this list of behind-the-scenes facts about the movie will sway you!
