Here’s How to Step Into Gigi Hadid’s Punk Rock-Style Pants

Gigi Hadid is a walking fashion do.

Hadid stepped out in Paris during the final leg of Fashion Week on Tuesday wearing a pair of punk rock-inspired red plaid pants. Naturally, she was sporting a new, trendy Parisian brand called Miaou.

Hadid paired her trousers with a stylish cropped mohair moto jacket and sleek black Chelsea boots, while wearing her hair slicked back; she accessorized with large, silver hoop earrings. The young model made quite a transition from her futuristic, space-inspired look at the Chanel Fall/Winter 2017 show earlier that day.

Miaou is the brainchild of Alexa Elkaim, a young designer who studied fashion at Parsons in New York, but learned her quick business wit from her stepfather. He’s the CEO and creative director of the successful fashion brands Current/Elliott and Joie.

After falling in love with a pair of pants at a Parisian vintage store that unfortunately were made for a tall, leggy model (i.e., someone just like Gigi), Elkaim sought to created an equally stylish version that was cropped to suit her size. She wanted the pants to feature signature grommets that would allow the wearer to mix and match belts, meaning that women of different shapes and sizes could wear them.
