Rings of Power is here! With such big shoes to fill, has the e-commerce giant done Tolkien's tales justice? Let's see what people are saying so far...

.Whether you love the show or hate it, it's definitely a great time for fantasy fans.

.If the viewing figures are anything to go by, Rings of Power is smashing it.

.Its impressive cinematography has ensured every shot looks like a work of art.

.The fact that it's the most expensive TV show ever produced could explain its visual beauty.

.A lot of people thought the writing and some of the acting weren't up to the same standard as the visuals.

.And whew, you don't have to look far to find fans of Tolkien's work who weren't too happy with where Amazon took his lore.

.Tolkien's works establish that female dwarves have full beards and are "usually mistaken for males."

.And speaking of missing hair, many lamented the loss of the glorious long locks we're used to seeing on Tolkien's elves.

.Some were shocked to see Galadriel go from the (mostly) serene sorceress of Peter Jackson's work to a badass warrior, but many fans brought to light her already established immense power.

.Some liked that the show is carving its own path while still being clearly enmeshed and inspired by Tolkien's world.

.Other fans thought people needed to just watch the show and enjoy what's presented instead of picking apart the intricacies.

.Many others pointed out that a lot of the changes to the lore/potential plot holes that people are complaining about are caused by the fact that Amazon only owns the rights to The Fellowship of the Ring, The Two Towers, The Return of the King, the appendices, and The Hobbit, and not due to a lapse in attention to detail.

.Aside from lore complaints, there has been a lot of controversies online around the diverse character castings.

.Luckily, most fans are not entertaining that kind of behavior in their fandom.

.Nor are the original cast members.

.Sean Astin, who played Samwise Gamgee in the Peter Jackson Lord of the Rings trilogy, also tweeted a pic of himself in a hat matching his costars' T-shirt design.

.There have also been complaints about the accent choices for the main races in the show; elves, men, hobbits/harfoots, and dwarves.

.In a surreal turn of events, Elon Musk tweeted that Tolkien would be "turning in his grave" about the adaptation.

He also said every male character in the show so far is "a coward, a jerk or both"...

....and somehow, author Neil Gaiman, whose show, The Sandman, is currently smashing the streaming charts, got embroiled in Elon's chaos...
