Here's How Mayim Bialik Fans Reacted To The 'Blossom' Reunion News

Now, more than two decades after its last episode aired in the spring of 1995, Mayim is coming together again with her fellow Blossom cast members in a very special way.

During the season 2 premiere of Mayim’s latest TV show Call Me Kat on January 9, Blossom actors Joey Lawrence, Michael Stoyanov and Jenna von Oÿ will star as themselves on the show for a fun reunion moment. As folks may know, in Blossom, Joey and Michael played Mayim’s older brothers, and Jenna portrayed her best friend. For the premiere episode, Mayim’s character, Kat, will meet the Blossom actors and inevitably fangirl over them — a twist on Blossom’s signature daydreams with celebrities giving her advice.

“Oscar, come meet the stars of my favorite TV show when I was growing up,” Kat says in the first promo for Call Me Kat season 2.

Mayim celebrated the exciting news over on her Instagram and Twitter accounts, referencing Joey’s catchphrase. “Whoa. This is some big fun news….a Blossom cast reunion is coming! Are you as excited as I am?! 🌸 🐈,” she captioned a photo from the show. In the picture, her character Kat wears a dark hat with a sunflower, similar to the one Blossom used to own.

After hearing about the upcoming reunion, Blossom fans immediately flooded the Instagram comments section overwhelmed with emotion. “No wayyyyy!!!! Best news I’ve heard all day wowwww,” one person wrote. “WHAAAAAAA!!!?????? I’m so excited!!!!” another added. “Tweenage me is so excited right now. Actually 30 [year old] me is equally as excited!” a follower commented.

In the original series, Mayim played Blossom, who is a teenager when her mother leaves the family to pursue a new life. She’s left with her father, who's often on the road as a musician, and her two older brothers. Blossom leans on her best friend, Six Lemeure, and when she needs words of wisdom, she imagines what celebrities would say to her.

We can’t wait to see if there are other Blossom references made in the season 2 premiere of Call Me Kat.
