Argentine-British actress Anya Taylor-Joy is a rising Hollywood starlet — with gigs like Netflix's The Queen's Gambit and being the upcoming host on Saturday Night Live, it's no wonder that people are intrigued by her personal life. She's been keeping things lowkey as she makes her way to the A-list, but recent photos of her kissing musician Malcolm McRae in New York City have fans buzzing about her dating life. Romance rumors have been circulating after Anya mentioned she had a partner in her ELLE May 2021 interview.
There's no confirmation that Anya and Malcolm are indeed an item, but Page Six reported that they kissed and held hands while strolling through Manhattan. Read on to learn who Malcolm McRae is and how he's linked to Anya Taylor-Joy.
He's a 27-year-old musician and actor.
Malcolm has an entire IMDB profile, so we know he has some acting chops. According to its bio, he was discovered at the AMTC talent competition and won Over All Young Actor when he was 12. In 2008, he starred in a short film, Brotherly, and played Gene Grady in 2020's How'dy!.
More recently, Malcolm is into music — he's constantly plugging his rock band, More's music on social media and posting clips of him playing guitar. His IMDB bio also says that he plays guitar and piano and sings "pop, folk, rockabilly, rock and musical theatre."
More is more of a duo than a band — Malcolm teamed up with Kane Ritchotte (formerly of Portugal The Man) and signed with Warner Records. They've been making music for over three years, and they're even verified on Spotify. Last summer, More released the first half of their two-part EP, 1/2, last summer.

According to More's bio on Spotify, Malcolm moved to LA from the south a few years ago in the spirit of love. It turns out the relationship didn't work out, but More ended up being born. Here's what their bio says:

According to an interview with American Songwriter, he said he used to work as a paralegal in Pasadena, California and even wrote song lyrics for "Elaborate Attractions" on the job.

We don't know the exact timeline of Anya and Malcolm's possible romance, but in an interview with ELLE, Anya said that she had a partner during a Zoom call.
"My partner’s just come back from work, and he’s moving around all of his equipment, so this was the safe spot," she said, sitting in her bathroom. She didn't say more about who the partner was or how long they had been seeing each other — she didn't even say that they lived together. There's a chance they might have just been in the same space at the same time. The interview allegedly took place three days after the Golden Globes, which confirms she had been seeing someone back in March.
