Crawling out of the glitter swamp and on to the fourth season of The Masked Singer is a certain hot pink, glam croc. And this masked performer is going to leave you puzzled.

The newest season of The Masked Singer recently premiered, finally providing us all with “something fun involving masks,” according to host Nick Cannon. Sixteen masked performers are included in this season of the show, including a glam reptile named Crocodile. Though clues to the croc’s identity are sparse, fans are still guessing the celebrity behind the mask with the little (and confusing) information available.

Here’s everything we know so far about Crocodile, including some early guesses as to the performer’s identity.

What clues do we know about Crocodile?

In Crocodile's intro package on a teaser episode of The Masked Singer, the masked celebrity gave a first official clue in front of screen displaying tic-tac-toe games. The games had split wins between O’s and X’s, which some fans took this to mean the celebrity behind the mask has had wins and losses in their career.

As for the official hint? Well, that is just plain unhelpful: “A special set of keys reversed my game forever,” Crocodile says for their first clue, adding, “Tik tac, woah!” Don't worry, everyone is confused.

During Croc's first appearance on the show during week 2, we hear them give a decent take on Bon Jovi's "It's My Life," followed by a take on a Britney Spears classic, "Toxic," during week 4.

Here are other clues we've learned from the croc him or herself:

  • They grew up in Hollywood.

  • They're "happiest in water."

  • Their father "didn't believe in their talent.

  • Among other things, we also see an Italian flag (and a fish in a pineapple on a table for some reason), a Las Vegas backdrop, and a pirate's flag in the Croc's clue videos.

Who is Crocodile on The Masked Singer?

Even with basically nothing to go on, fans on Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube have a number of guesses on who is behind this shiny croc mask. Some fans think the “tic tac” clue could be a hint that the Crocodile is Kesha, a possible reference to her hit song “TiK ToK." Plus, the Crocodile’s look is slightly reminiscent of Kesha’s glam-rock style.

Other viewers guessed Lil Nas X is under the mask because of the costume's grandiose touches, which the star is known to love. However, no one could draw a connection between Lil Nas X and tic-tac-toe or keys. Some fans guessed actor and singer Jaden Smith is behind the mask, as Crocodile said the phrase “You’ve never met a reptile like me” in an intro package, which could be a reference to his father Will Smith’s take on the Genie in Aladdin. Jaden also has pink hair, drawing on another possible connection.

Yet still, some viewers guessed Crocodile is Elton John due to the sequined and feather boa-decorated flamboyant costume. Fans theorized the crocodile identity might reference his hit song “Crocodile Rock,” though others thought this would be too obvious.

A recent guess to pop up in Theory Land is that Crocodile is Kid Rock—and many fans are all-in on this guess. With Kid Rock-like mannerisms and a costume that mimics Kid’s style, viewers think “Croc” could be a reference to “Rock.” After week 2's performance, we'd venture to guess Kid Rock isn't so far off, though we're not totally getting how the clues relate.

As for the judges guesses so far, well, the names of Jon Hamm, Nick Lachey, and Donnie Walhberg (Jenny McCarthy's husband) have come up. Looks like we're back to the drawing board.
