Here’s Karl Lagerfeld’s Custom $25K Apple Watch

While many of us are scrounging for nickels in couch cushions and vending machines in an effort to one day have enough cash to afford a low-level Apple Watch (those Sport bands are *so* athleisure!), Karl Lagerfeld is busy testing out his brand new, $25,000 wrist piece. Good thing his gloves are fingerless.
Originally Instagrammed by Lagerfeld’s assistant-slash-bodyguard Sebastian Jondeau with the caption, “1st apple watch specially made for KarL !! Amazing !!! Thanks #apple !!!!!!,” the custom-made Apple Watch features a shiny, yellow-gold link bracelet (those available to the public come only in silver and “space black”). MacRumors (via Fashionista) estimates the high-tech bling as being worth upwards of 25K—that’s $8,000 more than the most expensive Apple Watch available to the rest of the non-Chanel-designing world. Sigh.
Lagerfeld’s a longtime fan of Apple. The mega-designer famously has multiple personalized iPhones and, allegedly, owned more than 70 iPods at one point. So something tells us this is only the beginning of Kaiser Karl’s Apple Watch collection. Could a mini, super, ultra scratch-proof version for Choupette be next? Just a thought…
