This 4,500-square-foot home, valued at $1.5 million, is located in the Wexford area of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. It was constructed by local builder Infinity Custom Homes and designed by Chicago-based designer Tiffany Brooks. Numerous sponsors including SimpliSafe Home Security, Keurig, Sleep Number, and Sherwin-Williams pitched in to make this home come to life.
The home has four bedrooms, three bathrooms and pays homage to the city with its sleek industrial craftsman style, but with a contemporary twist. Throughout the space, you'll spot lots of bold colors, iron and metal fixtures, neutral-colored furnishings, and an array of geometric patterns. It's a house perfect for entertaining with its massive outdoor space, which includes a back patio that spans the length of the home. and an additional patio off the basement. Not to mention that the basement includes a game room equipped with arcade-style video games.
But let's talk about what makes this a "smart" home. The HGTV Smart Home 2020 includes smart solutions designed to enhance everyday life throughout the home. Some notable features of the home include:
Shall we look around the home?
Welcome to the 2020 Smart Home!
Please, come in! Peep the eccentric light fixture hanging in the foyer. It's made from old gears and bicycle wheels.
Below, we have the study. The industrial-styled steel chandelier, eggplant-colored walls, and geometric carpet pattern darken the room. Yet the blush pink chaise lounge chairs and large window soften the space up. It's both serious, yet fun!
Make your way to the living room and take a seat. That portrait of a pug wearing bling might be the greatest art I've ever seen.
Hungry? To the kitchen! On the left you'll notice a cozy breakfast nook which even features a beverage station.
Just to help you put this layout in perspective, here's another shot. Open floor plans for the win!
For more formal occasions, the dining room will make house guests feel like royalty. Just look at those lush velvet chairs and the artichoke-colored ceiling.
Before we venture upstairs, let's checkout the downstairs patio!
Here's what the backyard looks like from afar. Pretty nice, right?
Oh, and here's where laundry will be done.
Bedroom #1! This room was designed for a toddler or young child.
Bedroom #2! This room was designed for a teenager.
Bedroom #3! This room was designed for guests to stay in. It even has its own bathroom.
Drumroll, please! This is the master bedroom, which features an upholstered Sleep Number platform bed.
The 200 square-foot master bedroom walk-in closet isn't too shabby either. It has a built-in ironing board and specialized storage units.
Peep the master bathroom! It has a fully-programmable shower and smart mirrors.
Just a reminder that there's also an upstairs patio—perfect for hosting large gatherings.
Oh and if you've always wanted a home gym, you can find one located on the garage!
Alas, the basement includes a super neat game room equipped with retro video game machines, skee-ball, a giant Connect Four-styled game and a lounge area to enjoy some adult beverages in.
