Here's Who Fans Think the Snow Owls Are on 'The Masked Singer'

From Men's Health

  • The Masked Singer premiered on September 23.

  • Photos of the contestants were released before the premiere.

  • Fans are still curious about the identity of the show's first-ever duo.

The Masked Singer is one of TV's best guilty pleasures, and a large part of the fun is guessing the voice behind each performance. Last season, singer/songwriter Kandi Burruss took home the win as Night Angel, and viewers are already looking forward to who will take home the win for season four, which just premiered.

Fox has already released some promo photos of the season four contestants in their costumes, but one picture in particular already has fans talking.

For the first time ever, The Masked Singer will feature a duo that will compete and be unmasked as one. Dubbed the Snow Owls, the pair are both wearing crowns, but one owl has eyelashes while the other does not, leading many to think the Owls are a male-female duo.

What clues do we have about the Snow Owls?

In a preview video, one Owl shares that they're ready to "ruffle feathers and show everyone it takes two to make a dream come true." The other Owl reveals that they're on the show because "performing onstage with someone else is always twice as nice."

They later state that, "You can try and figure out who we are, but as for who is more talented, it's a tie. America who, who are we? Your heads will spin trying to figure us out."

The Owls also clued us in to the fact we haven't seen together in a while and coming onto the show is a family reunion. The male owl is described as a prankster and a wiseguy, and both owls shared a Christmas-themed story about their past together.

During Week 3, we learn a few other clues from the Snow Owls themselves:

  • The male owl went through a "messy breakup," and received backlash from their community.

  • The female owl had an opportunity "fit for a queen" and took a life-changing "leap of faith."

  • We also, for some inexplicable reasons, see the letter "D" in pink, neon signage, an anchor, and a basketball.

Who are the Snow Owls?

One leading guess is that the pair is a brother/sister duo. "They have to be twins or siblings because they're in an egg," one user said, while another pointed to a number of famous siblings: "The Olsen Twins. The Sprouse Twins. The Williams Twins (Serena and Venus). The Phelps Twins: James and Oliver (probably them because there’s owls and they’re from Harry Potter)."

Other guesses included singers Chloe x Halle, actors Eric Roberts and Julia Roberts, actresses Tamara and Tia Mowry, and dancers Derek and Julianne Hough. And while we still have no idea who the Snow Owls are, we can't wait to find out.

After their Week 3 performance of Meghan Trainor's "Like I'm Gonna Lose You," at least some users on Twitter are convinced they are country star Clint Black and his wife and actress/singer Lisa Hartman, solely based on their voices and Black's southern accent.
