Kate Middleton, HRH the Duchess of Cambridge, mom of three, and style icon has another unofficial title: hair goddess. While the length and color of Kate's locks have varied (albeit slightly) over the years, it seems to always look picture-perfect no matter the time of day, humidity level, or occasion. Though Kate and the rest of the royal family are very tight-lipped about sharing any details of their personal life, there are some details that have been leaked throughout Kate's time in the spotlight revealing just how she gets her hair so good.

Most of these come from her hairstylist, Richard Ward. Not only has he been styling Kate's hair for the last decade and divulged to People that Kate is "the same person that first came into the salon 10 years ago," he's also the man behind her signature wedding hair look in 2011. But, what he's most famous for is his signature "Chelsea Blow Dry" that you can get at his London salon and is the same blowout that has become Kate's go-to. “It’s not just about Kate’s hair – it is beautifully finished, frizz-free, shiny hair,” says Ward. “It’s a hairstyle that is well finished," Richard told People. Here's everything you need to know for achieving royal locks at home.

Kérastase is a go-to for shampoo and conditioner.

According to several sites (including Allure and Woman and Home), the Duchess is rumored to be a fan of Kérastase Bain Satin Shampoo and Conditioner. The line is meant to nourish strands with key nutrients to help keep hair strong and healthy.

She relies on a hairnet for updos.

The Revelist discovered in a close up of Kate's updos that she wears hairnets on the regular to help keep her strands in place for events or engagements. The reason you may have not ever noticed it is because she (or, more likely, her hairstylist) uses very very thin nets that match her hair perfectly and blend in so well that they're almost undetectable.

She detangles her strands before her blowouts.

Kate's longtime hairstylist, the aforementioned Richard Ward, did a complete breakdown of his signature "Chelsea Blow Dry" in a video tutorial with People and the essential first step includes detangling. "This look is all about having the hair in the best condition possible," says Richard. "I always brush the hair through with my antibacterial and anti-static detangling brush."

She sets her hair with rollers.

In the same blowout tutorial, Richard showed that after blowing out the hair using a bristle round brush to curl the cuticles, he sets sections of the hair into velcro rollers until the hair is cool. Woman and Home confirmed the technique sharing that "ex Vogue Editor-In-Chief Alex Schulman revealed that The Duchess drove up on the day of her photoshoot for the magazine’s centenary issue with rollers in her hair."

She uses a specific rough-dry technique.

Post-shower you likely rough dry your hair, well, roughly, right? Richard says this is wrong as being too inconsistent causes the hair to get frizzy. Instead, he recommends gently lifting the roots and blow drying them directly in all directions all over your head. He also suggests always using a nozzle on the end of your blow dryer saying, "A nozzle is what concentrates the heat and takes the frizz away—always use a nozzle."
