Bed Bath & Beyond filed for bankruptcy on April 23, signaling the end of an era for the big-box retailer and all of the college dorm rooms that were furnished with its wares.

According to its Chapter 11 filing, the company is expecting all Bed Bath & Beyond and buybuy BABY stores to close by June 30. What does that mean for you? If you've been hanging onto any coupons, digital gift cards, or merchandise credits, now is the time to use them.

For now, according to the company's press release, the "360 Bed Bath & Beyond and 120 buybuy BABY stores and websites will remain open and continue serving customers." The brands will also continue certain customer programs as they hold their last-chance liquidation sales. All in-stock items purchased online will also continue to be fulfilled during this time and customers can still use the Bed Bath & Beyond and buybuy BABY apps.

Time is ticking, though, so here are the deadlines you need to know if you're hoping to shop at Bed Bath & Beyond or buybuy BABY one last time.

Last Day to Use Coupons

While Bed Bath & Beyond is no longer accepting its iconic 20% off coupons, competitor retailers The Container Store and Big Lots have announced that they will accept them in-store for a limited time.

Big Lots will honor the 20% off coupons on any $50 or more in-store purchase through May 7.

The Container Store will accept the 20% off coupons on the in-store purchase of a single item through May 31.

Last Day to Use Gift Cards

You can still use gift cards in stores and online through May 8.

Last Day to Use Merchandise Credit

You can still shop with merchandise credit in stores and online through May 8.

Last Day to Use Welcome Rewards Points

Bed Bath & Beyond and buybuy BABY previously offered a cash-back rewards program called Welcome Rewards. Shoppers could earn 10 points for every $1 spent, and once a certain number of points was reached, the points could be redeemed for a My Rewards voucher. (Reaching 5,000 points was the equivalent of a $5 My Rewards voucher, 10,000 points was the equivalent of a $10 My Rewards voucher, etc.)

While you can no longer earn Welcome Rewards points on your purchases, any existing My Funds points you've accumulated can be used through May 8.

Last Day to Return an Item

You can still return or exchange items bought before April 26. All purchases after April 26, however, are final sale.

Last Day to Use your Wedding or Baby Registry

While no new registries will be created on Bed Bath & Beyond or buybuy BABY, existing registries are still viewable. According to the Bed Bath & Beyond website, "We expect to partner with an alternative platform where you will be able to transfer your data and complete your registry."
