Big Fall Book Sale volunteers

The Friends of the Library's Big Fall Book Sale is a fun, community event that takes place inside the Monroe County Public Library at 303 E. Kirkwood Ave. Sept. 30 through Oct. 3. Volunteers are needed Sept. 28 through Oct. 3 to assist with set-up, running/maintaining the bookstore, and tear-down. Please note that library policy requires volunteers fill out a Volunteer Information sheet. Buddy Walk for Down Syndrome

It's Buddy Walk time! Join the fun at this Down Syndrome Family Connection event taking place at the Monroe County Fairgrounds on Oct. 2. Volunteers are needed for set-up on Oct. 1, and for many different roles before, during, and after the event on Oct. 2. IU Student Advocate volunteer

Are you retired faculty or staff from Indiana University? If yes, then this opportunity may be for you. The IU Student Advocates Office (SAO), is looking for retired IU faculty or staff volunteers with a knowledge of and loyalty to IU. Volunteers need to possess excellent listening skills, great interpersonal skills, the availability to work one half-day shift per week during the academic year, and the willingness to make a minimum one-year commitment. Community Wish List Spotlight

Yarn Club

The IU Health Yarn Club is looking for donations from the community of new knitted and/or crocheted lap blankets and shawls, as well as new homemade pillows made from fleece or other fabrics for their patients. Donated items must be new, as they do not want to pass on allergens, etc., to the patients.
